Regular Session _ August 20th, 1929.
ROLL CALL: • The City Council met in regular session with Palayor tray prsiding;
all councilmen were present upon roll call.
MITdUTES OF I{IEETING HELD AUG. 6th were read .and approved.
CLAIMS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE : ' Following claims against Current Expense. Fund were
read and motion -was made by Partch, seconded by %McGee, ' that they , be paid; roll call showed
unanimous vote for the motion:

The claim of I . .A. Schuneman., amount �4.00 was reported on by McGee, who s'ta'ted
that instructions given Schuneman last year to,haul away rubbish had never been rescinded
and that therefore, bill would have to be paid; motion made by 'McGee, seconded by Wirth
that the bill be paid;. roll call showed all voting for the motion.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE %TAS RECEIVED FROM JOE SEELEY LAND motion was made by McGee,
seconded by Partch, that the license be grunted; . roll 'call showed all voting for the motion.
RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESS IEN'i' DOLL vOR bIDEVTALK ON COLU IBIA STREET was introduced, as
follows:
"WHEREAS,,a certain assessment roll on properties in Block 22 of Gerry's Addition
to the City of Pasco for the building of a sidewalk along the North end thereof was sub-
mitted to the City Council P:Iay 21st, 1929, and duly set down for hearing at 8 o'clock PILI,
July 2nd, 1929 and due and legal notice published of the time and place of said hearing
and notices given to the property o1mers to appear at said time and place and make pro-
tests against the said assessment roll, if any they had to make, and
"WEEREAS the said City council met, pursuant to said notice at said time and place
and no protests were madd., the said matter being continued to this date and no protests still
having been made against said assessment roll,
'NOW, THEREFORE, BE I-2 RESOLVED BY THE' CITY COUNCIL OF TH_.E CITY Oi+' PASCO, that
the said assessment roll, assessing property herein described, with the costs of the construct-
ion of said sidewalk, be and the same, is hereby confirmed, approved and ratified, the said
property and amount assessed against each piece and parcel thereof being described as follows:

Potion made by McGee, seconded by Anderson, that the resolution be adopted; roll call
unanimous vote for the motion.
FR O�OSED ORDINANCE No. 378,. being "An ordinance providing for the assessment of the
cost of construction of sidewalks on Columbia Street, adjacent to certain lots in. Blocks
16, 21 and 22 of Gerry's addition to the Town, now City, of Pasco"was read. Motion madd.
by Anderson, seconded by Wirth, that Ordinance ijo. 378 be declared to have had its first
reading; motion prevailed unanimously on roll call.
PROPOSED ORDINAi-jCE NO. 379-, being "An ordinance fixing the salary of the City
En-ineer of the city of .Masco and providing methods of payment of the same" was read;
motion made by Partch,. seconded by i,;icGee, that ordinance be declared to have had its first
reading; motion carried unanimously on roll call.
Motion made by Anderson, seconded by I.IcGee, that Ordinance No. 378 be given its
second reading by title only; roll call showed all voting for the motion. Ordinance
read by title and motion was made by Partch, seconded by IiicGee, that Ordinance ilio. 378
be declared to have had its second reading; roll call showed all voting for the motion.
Motion made by Anderson, seconded by I:IcGee, that Ordinance Into. 379 be given its
second reading by title only; roll call showed all voting for the motion. Ordinance
read by title and motion was made by Partch, seconded by Anderson, that ordinance be declared
to have had its second reading; roll call showed all voting for the motion.
Partch for Street Committee reported favorably on request of St Patricks Church
that a block be set aside finm for that church in the cemetery. motion then made by Partch,
seconded by Wirth, that Lot 7, be allotted to St. Patrick's Church. Roll call showed all
voting for the mot -ion.
WATER FOR GRAY'S EAST RIVERSIDE ADDITION: Partch reported for the Water
Committee relative to petition for water in Gray's East Riverside Addition, that it
would cost about X4000. to g5000. to pipe the water to that addition; he stated that
signers of the petition lived inside the city limits but asked for more time to submit
the report of the committee. F. L• i'yles spoke to the council briefly about the contract
he had with citizens in that addition to furnish them with water. T:Iotion Wade by Anderson,
seconded by Partch, that the committee be permitted to continue their investigation until
the next meeting; carried on roll call 6 to 1, as follows: Ayes: Anderson, McGee,
Meyer, Partch, Sargent and Wirth; Noes, Davis.
BIBS FOR NEW CLUSTPLIGHTS WERE OPENED AND READ AS FOLLOWS:
J. C. Roberts, Colville, Wash.., submitted 8 propositions ranging from X9994.72 to $13,727.62.

Above prices did not include cost of second cable, which was additional.
ADJOURNMENT: In order to give the council an opportunity to go over tLe
various bids, motion*was made by llidcGee, seconded by Anderson, that the council adjourn
until Monday, August 26th, at, 8 PPM; motion carried.
