Firth; Noes, Anderson. Motion declared carried. Partch spoke about program Street Dep . had utlined for -the summer; stated that had a line on a rock crusher-, which might be secured for about X250.00 and that he intended to look it over, it now being near Dayton. Also called attention to condition of building used by eater Dept. for a shop, etc., t:icGee, thereupon - made a motion, that the chairman of the Public Buildings Committee be instructed to go ahead with work of making necessary repairs to the building; seconded by Anderson and roll call showed unanimous vote. ROLL CALL: The city council met with 1 ayor Gray presiding and following councilmen present: McGee,' Meyer, Partch and Mirth; absent, Anderson, Davis and Sargent. CLAIMS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE: Following claims against current expense fund were read and motion was made by Firth, seconded by Meyer, that bills be paid.: roll call showed all voting for the motion: WARRANT NO. --T. F. Lance, wages on Water Dept. pay roll,x June 52.00 TRANSFER ORDERS ISSUED: In order to gripe out local improvement districts on treasurer's report which were appearing as in the red, State Examiner Smith had asked the Clerk to secure council's consent to a transfer of necessary funds from L. I. D. Districts which had not against them, so that treasurer's report would not show red figures in fa tore . Motion made by McGee, seconded by Meyer,, that Clerk be authorized to issue necessary transfer orders, as follows: (Roll call shoved all voting favorably) . Order #21, amount $30.78, from LID T121 to LID X22 Ti #12, " 68.41, " IT #25 Iyltce . to LID rr25 it #13, " 39.32 " " #121 to LID 7-t*51 INTEREST ON LID BONDS: A communication to the treasurer from the Amerman Agency & Investment Co., asking that the interest due on bonds in L. I. D. 7x28 and L.I.D. ;r32 be paid to them, was referred to the council. Ina.snuch as they. only wanted interest on part of the outstanding bonds and not the entire issue, entailing considerable work on the treasurer to keep interest funds in future, motion was made by McGee, seonded by Wirth, that the city treasurer be instructed to write to these people that they must send in the entire issue of outstanding bonds, before the treasurer will be authorized to pro rate the interest. PETITION OF L. W. TABER et al, containing 349 signatures, protesting the appointment of R. B. McFarland, was read; motion made by I-leyer, seconded by tvirth, that the pe ti do i be referred to the Water Committee; roll call showed unanimous vote for ?_ the motion. Communication read from Northern Pacific Railway relative to termination of premit to maintain irrigation pm pipe leading to the City Park; motion made by Partch, seconded by Wirth, that City Clerk be instructed to write that permit could be cancelled as pipe line was no longer in use. LICENSE APPLICA'TIO17S E'7ERE READ from Lee Foo, for the M&M Cafe, E.A.Nord to conduct a tent show five days; Geo. T. Austin for pool hall; motion made by Wirth, seconded by Meyer, that licenses be granted; roll call showed all voting for the motion. Communication read from L''. V.I. Depte and motion made by Meyer,, seconded Landt about insurance for members of the Fire by Wirth that letter be referred to the i rth 2651 Regular -Session _ June 18th, 1929. Fire & Light Committion for investigation and report. Report read from Police Judge showing collections of 1426 2.63. Mayor Gra; appointed Dan Putnam, Sr. as a member of the Library Board, vice B. B. Horrigan, resigned. Motion made by t1eyer; seconded by.Partch, that appointment .be confirmed; roll call showed unanimous vote for the motion. Mg,yo-r Gray appointed Ae IK. Wilkins as Chief of Police at the previous meeting and JU4 matter came up for disposition: motion made by Partch, seconded by I-.IcGee, that the appointment be confirmed; roll call showed following; Ayes, LcIcGee, Mleyer, Pgr.tch; Noes, Mirth.. Partch stated that Street Dept. wanted to secure forty arterial highway stop signs from the Automobile Club of Mash., at a cost of X1.55 each; motion made by McGee; seconded by Wirth, that the clerk be instructed to order these signs; roll call 'showed all voting for the motion. ,•Ir. Snow of the Snow Construction Co., Spokane, spoke about rock crushers, but as there is no money available in this year's budget, no further action was taken. The American Legion asked for permission to bring in a carnival July 8th to 13th, inclusive and motion was made by Meyer, seconded by Wirth, that the Legion be granted permission to sponsor a car4ival on the above dates and that the city do not issue any license to other carnivals previous to those dates. Roll call showed all voting for the motion. The license application of J. A. Johnson to operate a malted milk and soft drink stand on !�ourth St., being brought in, motion was made by 1:icGee, seconded by Wirth that the license be granted; roll call showed full affirmative vote. CLU.�TER LIGHTS : Partch submitted plans and specifications covering proposed rehabilitation -of cluster light system and after discussion, it was decided to propose a bond issue of N13,000.00 and City Attorney agreed to have an ordinance ready for introduction the following night, if the council decided to meet at that time. ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by r:icGee, seconded by Wirth, that the council adjourn until Wednesday night, June 19th at 8 P.H.; motion carried. PROPOSED ORDINANCE. being "An-Ordinancex appropriating funds of- the City of Pasco from Current Expense Funds, for* the, purpose of repairing, constructing and reconstructing the city cluster lights, etc." was introduced and read; motion made by Anderson, seconded by McGee that the ordinance be declared to have had it's first reading; roll call shovred all voting for the motion. Motion made by McGee, seconded by Wirth, that the ordinance be read by title only; roll call showed all voting for the motion. Motion made by Meyer, seconded by Anderson, that the ordinance be declared to have had its second reading; roll call shoiyed unanimous vote for the motion. IVIr. Boyd, representing the Westing house Electric uo. addressed the council giving further information by lights.
