ent were Councilmen Anderson, Davis, Meyer, Partch. and Mirth; absent McGee and Sargent.
IIIINUTES OF 1ZETING HELD May 7th and special meeting held May 13th, were read
and approved.
SCWIM1.,1I1,TG POOL:- 'R.- B. 'Lee addressed the council stating- that the Americak
Legion Mould ha<re approg.5000.00 available :for the construction of trio "swimming"'

suggestion of Anderson; the matter was passed up temporarily to come up again under the
regular order of business.

The bill of the Pasco Hardware CO., amount. $195.25, which had" been referred
to the Chariman of the ' Streets & Alley Committee was reported by Partch as being
correct -and that'. th.e mower was in service; motion made by' Partch, seconded by Mirth that
the bill be paid; roll call showed all voting for .the motion.
A REMONSTRANCE AGAINST THE CIRCUS SHU:IING HERE SUNDAY, ,J4L&Y 26th wasreceived
from the congregatioh"of the M. E.' Church; motion made by. Partch, •seconded by Anderson
that the communication be placed on file; roll call o.2dered and showed folloifLng
votes: Ayes, Anderson, I:leyer; Partch and Wirth.; Noes, Davis.
Resignation, of B. B.- Horrigan as a memb er .of the Library Board was read;
motion made by Anderson, seconded by Partch, that action be deferred until the next
meeting; motion later withdra,m.. Motion to accept the resignation teen made by
Davis ; seconded by I:Ieyer and roll call showed following votes: Ayes, Anderson, Davis,
Meyer. 'noes, Partch and Mirth.
Request read from City Treasurer Rutherford asking sanction of the council
in paying interest on Bonds Nogs. 7, 8 and 9, . L. I. D. +,-47, these being the only bonds
still outstanding in that district; bonds 7 &: 8 are in the hands of the Mexico Savings
Bank, Mexico, 171o: -.,na Bond ,7#9 in the hands of E.. C. Kennen of that city. Motion made
by Davis, seconded by Partch, that the m yor and clerk be .authorized to sign the
necessary forms; roll call showed unanimous vote for the motion. -
CLUSTER LIGHTS: Davis was awed for a report on the rehabilitation of
cluster' lights and made a verbal report as to what the council last year had proposed
to do; 'stated that. there were two methods of financing, either general obligation
bonds, or.L. I. D.'s. State Examiner Wesley Smith, was asked his opinion in regard
to financing the proposition and sur-gested that L. I. D. bonds be issued, as under
recent laws of the state, Wien.I,. I. D. bonds are issued, the city stands behind them,
guarantying the last . 5% of such an issue. He stated that' several cities were no,rr
using that method of financing. Isotion then made by Davis, seconded by:'nderson,
that the method of financing, etc. be referred to the Finance Committee who could
take the matter up with the city attorney, if necessary. Roll call showed all voting for
the motion.
COLU10IA STREET' SIDE; ALK ASSESSMENT ROLL: The proposed assessment roll
for the construction of a concrete sidewalk on Columbia St., between 5th and 7th Streets,
as submitted a by Supt. Partch was read. Total of roll was ' a�s follows:

Tdotion made by Partch, seconded by Davis, that council set .the hour of 8 PM, July
2nd, 1929, as the time at which protests against *the assessment roll be heard and that
clerk give due notice of such hearing; roll call showed all voting for the motion.
-Clerk called attention to the fact that the County Road & Bridge Fund owed the
city 4'695.15, .which was figured as an asset in this year's budget; motion made by
Partch, seconded by Rleyer, that Clerk be instructed. to write County Treasurer asking for
same; roll call showed all voting for the motion.
IN TIE MATTER OF CONFIRMATION OF THE 12POINTMENT OF GEORGE COVEY AS CHIEF OF
Police, action on which was deferred at the last meeting, motion was made by Anderson,
seconded by Meyer, that the appointment be confirmed; motion lost as follows on roll
call: Ayes, Anderson and Meyer; Noes, Davis, Partch and Wirth.
SWI'.G,IING. POOL LOCATION: After discussion on the council as to a site for the
proposed new swimming pool, it seemed to be the opinion of the council that the site
near the present wading pool in the city park was the logical, place for it. 11otion
was then made by Partch, sdconded by girth, that the American Leging be granted permission
to go ahead with the construe tion of a swimming pool at the site selected by their
committee as soon as they can see their way clear to complete the work. Roll cal l
showed all voting for the motion.
ADJOURNMENT: Council adjourned upon motion by Anderson, seconded by Partch.
