Regular Session _ February 19th, 1929.
ROLL CALL: The council met in regular. session. tori th following members present:
Mayor Gray, Councilmen Anderson, 1VIcGee, Partch and Sargent.
MINUTES OF IVEETING IELD FEBERU.�RY 5th were read and approved.
CLAII;I;S AGAINST CTJRBENT EXIENSE: Following claim against Current Expense Fund
was read and motion made by ?McGee, seconded by Anderson, that it be paid;
roll call sho.aed unanimous vote for the motion:
Warrant No.7538 P. P. & L. Co.., City lights $310.12
2tiommunication read from A. E. Beeves, Spokane, flash.,, asking for a price on the
city water system; no action taken, but clerk was informally advised to, write i1r.
Reeves that the plant was not for sale.
Communication read from City Treasurer that she had purchased $;8000.00 worth of
Pasco Nater Revenue bonds No. 1, 02000.06 being due each year of 193'7, 1938, 1939 and 1941.
Motion made by McGee, 'seconded by Sarggtt, that the action of the treasurer in buying these.
bonds be approved; roll call shoed all voting for the motion.
Communication read from Union Oil Co. stating that the future price for gasoline
purchased by the city would be, minimum 15L, and maximum 171 per gallon. No action taken.
LICENSE APPLICA1 IONS : Applications to operate hotels were received from the
.following: Mrs. L. I:Iae Conrad, Cunningham Hotel and Mrs. L. Fallon, West Hotel. l:Iotion
made by Anderson, seconded by I -Tc Cee, that these lizenses be granted; -roll call showed
unanimous vote for the motion.
MAYOR GRAY APPOI%;TED FLOYD PERRY AS CHIEF CF POLICE, in lieu of 11. H. Taylor
who was rejected at the previous meeting; motion made by McGee, seconded by Anderson,
that the appointment be confirmed; roll call showed all voting in favor of the motion.
COLLTMIA STREET SIDEVIALK IPIPROVEit ,-,:NT : Anderson brought up matter oy Uolumbia St.
sidewalk, which has been hanging fire for some time and for which the city should be reim_
bur sed; Mayor Gray stated he would see the City Attorney -relative to getting the matter
in shape for handling.
DATER DEPT. PAYROLL & LMERGENCY EMPLOYES.: On acc cunt of the large number of
employes temporarily on the hater Dept. payroll because of sever freeze ups, the matter of
paying laborers off when dismissed was discussed. Motion was then made by Anderson,
seconded by Partch, that tinter 1,11anager I:ioretz be granted a temporary revolving fund of
x$''1000.00 with which to pay laborers in connection with the thawing out of the nater system;
roll call ordered and showed all voting for the motion.
WARRANT No.816, favor I1JI. 11. Moretz, for 51000.00 issued.
TOURIST PARK: Discussion was had of the proposed abandonment of the Tourist
Park now located at one end of the City Park; motion made by -TJcGee, seconded by Anderson,
that the matter be referred for investigation and report at a later meeting to the
committee on Streets,- Alleys, Parks &- Cemetery. Roll call shooed unanimous vote for
the motion.
