CURRENT EXPENSE, BILLS REFERRED TO COUNCIL BE AUDITIETU COI.II,iITTEE :
A number of bills were referred back to the council by the Auditing Committee. The
bill of A. J. Smith, amount @47.50, for a check writer furnished the city treasurer
was not allowed by the council, their opinion being that it was unnecessary and that
its purchase was not provided for in the treasurer's budget.
The payroll of the r'ire Dept. was not OK'd by trB committee account of
the names of two patrolmen appearing on the roll; Chief Taylor explained that one of
his men had -ruined a suit of clothes and his name teas put on the roll to pap for repairs;
Anderson suggested -that seperate claim be made for the damage to clothes and that the
names of patrolment be cut off. 1JcGee thereupon moved, seconded by Partch, that the
names of the two patrolmen be eliminated from the . ,ire pay roll and that the balance
be paid; roll call shooed all voting for the motion.
WARRANTS Nos. 7524_7534, covering pay -roll, total amount 4?69.00.

not indicating daps on which men worked; motion made by Partch, seconded by I,1cGee,
that Street Dept. pay roll be allowed and warrants be drawn for same; roll call showed
following votes: Ayes, Anderson, 11cGee and Partch; Noes, Davis and Sargent; not
voting, Wayde.
WARRANTS Nos. 7519 to 7523 incl., amount X259.00 issued to cover pay roll.
Claim of Vlelsh Staufer Co., amoiuit x.6.00 for chains, was ordered paid upon
motion made by Anderson, seconded by I;IcGee; FIARRANT No. 7536 issued.
License application of Cyril J. i;filcox to conduct a soft drink establisl��eilt
at the Cunningham Hotel, had been previously referred to the Police uonunittee; Police
Committee recommended the rejection of tiie aipplication. I%,lotion made by Anderson,
seconded by Wayde, that the report of the committee be accepted, the application be
re jecjted and that the city clerk be authorized to issue a warrant covering the X5.00
application fee paid by the applicant and turned over to the treasurer. Roll call showed
unanimous vote for the motion. WARRANT NO. 7537, amount ; 5.00, issued.
Street & Alley Committee reported relative to vacation of South alley in
Block 25, Riverside Addition, that they were opposed to the vacation of the alley, but
that they could see no objection to l.ir. Boatman using the alley. I:iotion then made by
Partch, seconded by Anderson, that the uity Clerk be instructed to write JTr. Soatman to
that effect; roll call showed all voting for the moron,

ordered and showed unanimous vote for the motion.
POLICE 0012 ITTEE THRU C1 -D IRI:LIN 116GEE reported that they mould not recotmnend
the appointment of M. H. Taylor as Chief of Police. Motion made by .Davis, seconded
by Sargent, that the -report of the committee be accepted. Roll call sho�-ied
all voting for the motion.

Report of Police Judge read and motion was made by Anderson, seconded by
.jayde, that the rep_ ort be accepted and placed on file; roll call showed u.11 voting

succeed hereself, her term expiring Dec. 31st, 1928. . Tlotion made 'by Sargent, seconded
by Davis, that the appointment be confirmed; roll- call sho. ed all voting for the motion.
Davis reported for the Finance Committee, that there was available sinking
fund cash amounting to 4 295'70.29, ready for investmant.
Davis brought up the matter of gasoline furnished to . the sexton. o f the
cemetery, ,anount i.ng to 25 gallons per month. After discussion, motion was made by
Sargent, seconded by Partch, that the supply .of gasoline fmcnish to the sexton be
discontinued; roll call showed all voting for the motion.
