seconded by hlcGee, that the lican.ses be granted; roll call showed
following vote: Ayes, Davis, I,1cGee, Pyles, Smith and Wayde; noes, Hays: motion
declared carried.
Mr. Ray B. Lee being present, addressed the council relative to two lots
desired, one by the !:loose Lodge and the other by the Sisters at the hospital; they
asked that these plots be set aside for them and they would xpT pay for the ±Mt graves
as used. 1.1otion made by Pyles, seconded by Waydd., that Mr. Lee be authorized to set
set aside Lots 11 and 12 in Block 6 for the Sisters and Lots 1, 2 & 3, in Block 7 for
the Moose Lodge; roll call showed all voting in favor of the motion.
REPORT OF WATER MANAGER DEAD showing net profits of 5 785.79; motion made by
Davis, seconded by Pyles, that report be accepted; -roll call showed unanimous vote
for the motion.
REPORT OF CITY CLERK IN TYPED FORM was passed to each councilman; report of
city treasurer was passed around.
Report of Police Judge read and motion made by Davis, seconded by°Smith, that
report be accepted; roll call shoved all voting for the motion.
9X2X TREASURER'S BOND RAISED TO $30, 000.00: Under reports of committees,
Davis brought up the matter of Treasurer's bond, stating that as treasurer constantly Lj
had y?'70•, 000.00 to 4,375,000.00 on hand, >10, 000.00 bond was not enough. He thereupon
made the motion, which was duly seconded by Hays, that effective January lst, the
bond of the City Treasurer be set at ;30,000.00; roll call ordered and showed all
voting in favor of the motion.
City ule-rk was instructed to write incoming treasurer and ask for a revised bond.
JOHN PERRY was appointed Chief of Police in a communication from 1:1ayor tray;.,
motion made by IvIcGee, seconded by Clays, that consideration of the appointment be laid \
over until the next meeting; upon roll call all voted for the motion.
GEO COVEY !'TAS APPOIIRUED POLICE JUDGE by 1,ayor Gray and motion was made by
Pyles, seconded by Davis, that the appointment be confirmed; carried by vote of five
to one as follows: Ayes, Davis, McGee, Pyles, Smith and vdayde-, Noes, Hays.
TRANSFER OF BUNDS ORDERED: 1:lotion made by Davis, seconded by Smith, that
y"7000.00 be transferred from the Water Fund to the dater Bond sinking fund; roll call showed
all voting for the motion. TRANSFER ORDER No. 6 ISSUED.

TRANSFER ORDER #7 Jotion made by Davis, seconded by Hags, that ; 5000.00 be transferred
from Current Expense to Refunding Bond sinking fund; roll call
showed unanimous vote for the motion.
D. E. SI:TITH RESIGNED AS COUNCILMAN: The resignation of D. E. Smith
was read; motion made by Hays, seconded by Smith, that the resignation be accepted;
roll call showed unanimous vote for the motion.
J. F. SAR039T ELECTED AS COUINCILMAH: Motion was made by Davis,
seconded by Pyles, that J. .t'. Sargent be appointed councilman to fill the unexpired
term of D. E. Smith; roll call ordered .and motion prevailed four to two as follows:
Ayes, Davis, Pyles, Smith and Vfayde; Noes, Hays and IIIc Gee.

CANVASS OF VOTES: The council proceeded with the canvass of votes cast at
at the city general election Dec. '4th and found the' following results:
For I:Iayor: Smith ,486; Gray 7112; Gray delcared elected.
For Clerk: Speier 761; elected. '
For Attorney:.. Swanner 759; . elected
For `Treasurer: Viehe 335;. Rutherford 913; Rutherford declared elected.
For Councilman at large: 8tringham 1021; elected
Four Councilmen: Pyles 473, Voshell 457, Vlallis 470; Anderson 111111., Partch 735;
I:IcGee 777; Anderson, Partch and I,IcGee declared elected.
Proposed 1115000.00 bond issue; for bonds 600; against bonds 422; measure
lost by 12 votes.

motion carried.
