P. Gray expenses attending' convention of city officers - of the state at Tacoma 17.84 Total 555.54 Roll call ordered and showed unanimous vote for the -motion. Communication from, L. D. 'IrlcFarlaild w Co:, asking for an opportunity to submit prices on cedar poles was ordered placed on file. Reports of Committees: -Davis reported regarding proposed'fire- alarm wires to be installed at same time light wires are laid would -cost approx. 0225.63 for material and 675.00 for labor if '14 wire was used, -while the material cost would be approx. 5150:00 less if 7#18 wire was used. Report of Police Judge for Ocober was read and on motion by Davis, seconded by C.H.Smi th was ordered placed" on file. Treasurer's report for October and the report of City Clerk in typed form were passed around. Reports of ' Uater r,,Tana.ger %3o-retz for months of September and October, showing net earnings of 4'1259.74- and ti7874.54 were read. Relative to request of School Board to have Ninth St. closed during school days account children playing in street for lack of playgrounds, Street Com- mittee reported that they had authorized the School Board to close the street if nobody else objected. Geo. Goodman WAS APPOINTED POLICE JUDGE BY 1IAYOR GRAY and motion was made by Pyles; seconded by Hays, that he be confirmed; upon roll call, motion carried by unanimous vote. Smith moved, seconded'by Pyles, that the nomination be rejected; roll call showed all voting for the motion. Jim Wilburn was appointed inspector of Precinct No. 5 for the city general election Dec. 4th in place of Thos. Gibson, motion to that effect being made by C. H. Smith and .seconded by Hays; roll call shovred unanimous vote for tho motion. Davis suggested that date for holding public meeting on matter of cluster lights be mode'October 27th and Mayor Gray was made a commi't'tee of one to see if the Institutlonal Church Auditorium, could be secured. CANVASS OF VOTES CAST AT CITY PRIHARY ELECTION. The City Council proceeded to canvass votes cast at -the city primary election and found original unofficial figures as reported to be correct, as follows: Independent Citizens Ticket: For mayor, - 4. P. Gray, 621; For Clerk, D.J.Speier, 52; *For Treasurer, I:rs. C. A. Rutherford,.622; For -Attorney, R.P.Stivanner 50; For Councilman_at_large, L. L: Stringham, 584; for Councilmen, P.. E. Anderson 577; Art Partch 561; S.N.11cGee 568. I Progressive League Ticket: For P,Tayor,--C. H. Smith, 465; For City Clerk, D.J. Spei-er, 441; For Treasurer, Mary�I.'Wehe 286 and Chas. A• Smith 169; For Attorney, R. P. Swanner 456; For Councilman -at -large, L. L. Stringham, 23; For Councilmen, L. Pyles 441; George ,71. Voshell, 412; C. R. 17allis, 387. All of the above candidates with the exception of Chas. A• Smith for the office of Treasurer on the Progressive League ticket, were declared to be the nominees and entitled to have their names appear on the ballot at the city general election; I:Irs. Wehe was de- clared to have ivon the nomination on the rProgressive League ticket, as treasurer. ADJOURIU1ENT: I -lotion made by Hays, seconded by Pyles, that the meeting adjourn; motion carried.
