HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-06-1928 MinutesROLL CALL: Pursuant to a call from i:Iayor Gray, the city council met in.special session for the purpose of considering an ordinance covering the rehabilitation of cluster lights -and matters pertaining thereto. Roll call showed foll wing' prasent : Mayo -r ' Grayy, Councilmen Davis, hays, I.IcGee, C.H.Smith and �hayde; absentees Pyles and D.E.Smith. `PROPOSED ORDINANCE No. 375, being "An ordinance providing for repairing, recorit-ructiig.nd iinp-roving the "cifiy cluster lights, parkmay cables, wiring and all connections thereto located on both sides of Tewis Street, both sides of Fourth ° Avenue and Tacoma Street; and providing for the payment of said repairs, reconstruct- ion and improvement of said city cluster lights by the issuance of general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00 Dollars, said bonds to be issued and payable at such times and places as the cite council shall determine, to drawx interest not to exceed 6% annually, payable semi-annually, and providing for submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Pasco at the General City :Election to be held on the 4th day of December, 1928, said proposed bond issue for their. approval or rejection,", was introduced and read. Motion made by Hays, seconded by C. H. Smith, that Ordinance No. 375 be declared to have had its first reading; roll call showed unanimous vote for the motion. 1,1otion made by Smith, seconded by Hays, that Ordinance No. 375 be given its second reading by title only; roll call showed all voting for the motion. Ordinance thereupon was read by title. r:Iotion made by C.H.Smith, seconded by Hays, that Ordinance No. 375 be declared to have had its second reading; motion carried unanimously on roll call. Roll call showed unanimous vote for the motion. I- rs. Chute, chairman of the Pork Board being present spoke to the council relative to installing additional sprinkling facilities at the city park; matter referred to the Park Committee. Communication read from the School Board, asking that Ninth St. be closed totraffic between 8:30 A%h! and 4:30 PILI between Bonneville ,:nd Shoshone Sts., account of children playing there; motion made by I:IcGee, seconded by ;`Taydd., that the matter be referred to the Street Committee with power to act. Roll call showed all voting for the motion. Smith, seconded by Davis;. roll,call showed all voting for the motion. . Ordinance No. 375, being "AN` ORDIANCE PROVIDING FOR REPAIRING, RECONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVING THE CITY CLUSTER LIGHTS, non -inductor. -cables, wiring and all connections thereto,, etc., providing for the issuance of �1�15,000.00 of general obligation bonds and for submission of the same to the qualified electors of the city at the general election to be held Dec. 4th, was ° read for the third time. ftht Davis recommended that "Parlaxiay" cables be made to read " non- inductor "cable, -as the latter would cost approx. 60% of the cost of parkway cables; this suggestion was adopted and motion was made by C.H.Smith, seconded by Hays, that Ordinance No. 375 be declared to have had its 3rd reading; motion carried unanimously on roll call. ,Notion made by C.H.Smith, seconded by .ayde, that Ord. x375 be adopted as read; roll call shored all voting in favor of the motion and it was declared as adopted.
