H. * O'connor for ope-ratin,, the Denver Hotel and restaurant; motion made by %.IcGee, seconded by Hays, that the license be granted and motion prevailed with`out' any dissenting vote. ORDINANCE f374, be ing "A� ORDINANCE REPEALIITG ORDINANCE NO. 372, entitled; 'An ordinance declaring an emegerency to exist requiring' the immediate oiling of certain streets and avenues in the City of Pasco, providing for the oiling thereof and the is- suance of emergency warrants'in payment therefore', " was read for the third time; motion made by Pyles, seconded by McGee, that the ordinance be declared to have had its third reading; roll call showed unanimous .vote for the motion. Motion made by C.H.Smith, seconded by Davis, that' Ordin once 74374 be d6blared adopted as read; roll call showed unanimous vote for ' the motion and the ordinance was declared as passed and adopted. T Communication read ffom E. C. Simpson, District Engineer of the State Highway Dept. in which he advised that maintenance funds set aside for cities, if not e.c-pended this year, would be available � for spending the following year and that the funds do not revert back to the state at the end of the biennium. 'He also stated that they,would plan on doing; their oiling -early next spring. Mr. S. P. 01right, of the Howard Cooper Corporation addressed the council about fire alarm sirens, gouting prices in the neighborhood of ?800:00 for them. I,,Iotion made by I,.IcGee, seconded by Davis that the matter of fire siren be referred * to the Fire Com- mittee; motion carried. Clerk reported that on claim of Vlelsh Stauffer Co., two items had been paid in the month of 11arch and the bill was returned to the Chief of Police to have corredted. Communication_ read from the Pasco Table Supply, as rang that a loading zone he marked off in front of their establishment; motion ?:Wade by McGee, seconded by Pyles, that Chief of Police be instructed to mark off a ldading zone in front of the Pasco Table Supply; on roll call, the -re was unanimous vote for the motion. I:rAYOR GRAY APPOINTED VIM. G. SPOFFORD AS POLICE JUDGE; 'in lieu of E. J. 1:Toren, who had failed to qualify: Hotion made by I',IcGee, seconded*by Says, that he be confirmed; roll -call ordered and comfirmation lost by a vote of 3 to 2, as follows: Ayes, 1,Tcdee and Hays; noes, Davis, Pyles, Smith. Mayor Gray appointed V.I. J.' Shaughnessy as Chief of Police; motion. made by Davis, seconded by Smith, that the mat -ter of confirmation be laid over until the nest meeting; motion carried four to one. as follows: Ayes, Davis, I:IcGee, Pyles and C.H.Smith.; Noes, Hays. Pyles brought up the matter of lights on Fourth Street and motion was made by 1,IcGee, seconded by Pyles, that the matter be referred 'to the Light Committee iv�ith authority to act. lJotion carried on roll call by unanimous vote.
