ROLL CALL: The city council met in adjourned meeting with following members present: Councilmen Davis, Hays, C. R. Smith and Wayde; . absentees were Iilayor Gray, Councilmen McGee, Pyles and D. E. Smith. In the absence of llayor dray, ivilayor Pro Tem C. H. Smith presided. )`.MINUTES OF MEETINGS HELD Sept. 4th, Sept. 12th and Sept. 18th were read and approved.. CLAIMS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE: Following claims against current e:mense were read and motion was made by Hays, seconded by Wayde, that they be allowed and warrants be drawn for the same:' +=7192- P. T. & T. Co., telephone service _ 6.10 X7193 °l. C. Staples, repairing voting booths 3.45 Communication from the Worthington Pump Liachy. Cb. regarding installation of Diesel engines at the pumping plant was referred to the. b� ter Committee. Water Committee reported that hydrant had been placed at Clark & 11'. Owen Sts. Light Committee reported had no report to make on light petitioned for for 8th Clark Sts. Report of Water irlanage-r showing net earnings of U1657.63 was read and motion made by Davis, seconded by 1layde that it be placed on file; motion carried. 11AURICE AIRY WAS APPOIFTED POLICE JUDGE BY MAYOR GRAY IN LIEU OF Dave Hastih.gs, who had failed to qualify. Ilotion made by Davis, seconded by hays, that the appointment be confirmed; roll call ordered and showed all voting; for the motion. F. L. PERRY VIAS APPOIFTED CHIEF OF POLICE+' IN A CO1v21 U11ICATI01d FROM THE MAYOR IN PLACE OF 111 :3 R-" Cox, who had failed to qualify. 1 otion made by Hays, seconded by :laydd, that the appointment be confirmed. ROLL CALL: The council met in special session for the purpose of adopting the budget for the year 1929. Present were Mayor Gagy; Councilmen Davis, Hays, McGee, Pyles, C.H.Smith and VIayde. ORDINANCE f373, being "AN OIEDINANCE ADOPTING THE, BUDGET FOR TBE YEAR 1929" was read; motion made by Smith, seconded by -Pyles, that ordinance be declared to have had its first reading; upon carried unanimously upon roll call. Motion made by Smith, seconded by Fyles, that Ordinance Jr373 have its second reading by title; motion carried unanimously upon roll call. Ordinance ;;`373 then read by title. Motion made by Smith, seconded by Davis, that Ordnance .x373 be declared to have had its second reading; roll call showed all voting in favor of the motion.
