Regular Session
June 5th, 1928
ROLL CALL: 'The City council met in regular session with following members
present: Mayor Grey, Councilmen Davis, Hays, I-rlcGee,- Pyles, C.3.Smith and `layde.

NATURAL-GAS FRANCHI�,: L. L.. Stringha.m representing the Chamber of Commerce
Industrial Committee was present and stated that he ha -A been asked to, securean expression
.from the council relative to granting a franchise for piping natural gas from the
Rattle Snake Hills into Pasco; after discussion the members of the council stated
that they would favor the granting of such a franchise.

Fund and -motion was made by Davis, seconded by Smith, that they be paid; upon roll call
all voted in favor of the motion:

seconded by 1Vayde, that the claim .be allowed and warrant drawn for the same; upon
roll catl, ' al --1 voted for the motion;
WARRANT No. 6957 issued, favor J. H, 1 itchell, amount 8' 5.00 (Current Pxp.)
WARITZA tT No. 7009: Claim of Chas. Hartzog, amount �'p11.45, 'for making repairs to
Police Car was discussed by council and was cut to ?7.70; motion made by
Smith, seconded by Pyles, that the bill be corrected to read x$7.70 and that
amount be paid; upon roll cell, :motion carried unanimously. (Current Exp..item).
Water WARRANT No. 672 (shite River Lbr. Co., amount x;315.50) :- Claim of i,,'hite River
Lumber Co., amount ��15.50, for roofing was brought up by Auditing Committee;
it developed that roofing had been ordered by Building Committee upon
instructions of the mayor for use by pumper; motion made by Ii?cGee, seonnded by
Hays that the bill be p .id; upon roll call, council voted a.s follows: .h.yes, Hays,
McGee, Perles, Smith and t}Ta.yde; Noes, Davis; motion carried 5 to 1.
DEVEREAUX RESIGNED FROlil PARK BOARD: The resignation of ,.r. D. Devereaux as
a member of the Park Board was read; motion rnade by Hays, seconded by Pyles, that
the resignation be accepted; upon roll call, all voted for the motion.
Conumunlication read from Iff. Butler, Commissioner of Finance of Spokane,
about cities receiving from the state a share of the license and ga olive taxes;
motion made by McGee, seconded by Hays, that it be referred to the Street & Alley
Committee.- motion carried, roll call showing all voting ,in favor of same.

by Smith, seconded by taayde, that the license be granted; upon roll call, all voted
for the motion.
Report of Police Judge Quinlan was 'read; Imotion made byv Smith, seconded by
Pyles, that it be.placed on file; upon roll cell, all voted in favor of the motion.
,A. 11. HAS TT VIAS APPOINTED AS POLICE JUDGE BY HAYOR GRAY: Motion made by
JLzcGee, seconded by Pyles, that action be postponed until the next reg<ler meeting,
this to come up under the head of "unfinished business"; upon -roll call, all voted
for the notion.

reported that Hr. Young had stated he would not qualify for the position if confirmed;
motion then made by Smith, seconded by I:IcGee, that the be ro jetted; upon
roll, call, all voted for the motion.
BIDS FOR PAINITIItG OUTSID�IE OF CITY Hik'LL: Following bids were received for
aiming �; ood: ork on outside of City Hall: J. rl.11.ooldridge, X194.00; D. �. l�Iaclrenzie
197.00. i!otion made by Smith, seconded by Davis, that the bids be rejected as
there was not that much money available in the fund; upon roll call, all voted
in favor of t -.e motion.
City Clerh submitted statement shoeing, credit of the city, this being in
typed fora and copy furnished to each coiuic L n.
Davis reported on oiling of Fourth St., having L.ttended a meeting of the
Chamber of Commerce Highway Committee: he stated that there was a, possibility that the
state would oil Fourth St. (State goad Ito. 11) using any money left after oiling
between Pasco end 1alla Walla. Hlotion mode by :Davis, seconded by Smith, that the
City Clerk communicate with the ate Highway Dept. for permission for a. temporary oiling
of 4th Street, to eliminate the dust nuisance. Upon roll call, motion prevailed
