DONAHUE ROAD BONDS OF DISTRICT 29, -YAKIIIIA COUNTY: Communication read from
City Treasurer Wohe -relative to investing' in approx.-4)35,'000.00 worth of Donah.,Oe
Road Bonds of District 729; Yakima County. After disc�issi.on, motion was drily made by
Davis, > seconded by Pyles, that tile CityvTreasurer' be authorized to take izp' the Donahue
Road Bonds of Districtj29, County" o f Yakima,' which aro noww being heldby the - Bank of
Commerce, Pasco (valued in the neighborhood of $35,000,00; mayor ordered a roll call
and there was a uiianimous vote for the motion.
I -LICENSES: Requests for licenses were read*f-rom the following: 0. Hing to
conduct the Cunningham Hotel; Inland Theatres, Inc. to operate the Liberty -Theatre
and the Bungalow dance hall; motion ;:lade by Pyles, seconded'by C. H. Smith that the
licenses be granted; upon roll call, all voted for thh motion.
A petition for a light to be placed at f�olumbia S gain S'is.,, signed by Geo. Sams$, et
al; was read and motion was made by 1�cGee, seconded -by Hays, that •matter be referred ,to the
Light Committee; motion carried.
L. F. NEWTON WAS APPOINTED AS CHIEF OF POLICE IN A CO11/IUNI CAT ION FROM I:LQYOR GRAY;
motion was made by Davis, seconded by i;lcGee, that the . u a.t ter be laid on the table until the
next meeting; -upon roll call, all voted for the motion. t
REPORTS'OF COHEITTEES: Claims Committee reported on bill of the P. P. & L. CO.'
amounting to $2.90, for lights D rriished caretaker -'s house at the - Tourist Park and recommend-
ed that the bill be paid. as the occupant of the house 'tiaas :watching city property in the Park.
Motion was then made by Pyles, seconded by -C. H. Smith, that the bill be allowed and that a
warrant be drawn for the same; mayor ordered a roll call, which resulted' in three ayes
and three nays, as follows:. Ayes, Pyles, Smith and ilayde; Noes; Davis; Hays & McGee;
motion declared -lost. 'C. H. Smith then moved, seconded by P;�les, that the`bill be referred
back to the Chairman of the Park Board with instructions that the council will not -pay the
bill and that she Will have to arrange to have Mr. Morris ( occupant of the house) pay it;
upon roll call, all voted for the motion.-
ffater Committee reported next earnings of $$5559.15 for 1927 in excess of earnings
for the year 1926 and reco:mended that rates for water be changed so as to give consumers
500 cu. ft. for 42.00, as the minimum, instead of 400 cu. ft. as at present. Proposed NEW
WATER RATES TOULD BE AS FOLLOWS:

Potion made by C.H.Smith, seconded by Pyles, that the report of the Water Committee be accepted
and rates lowered according to schedule listed in their report effective with January, 1927,
billing; upon roll call, all voted for'the motion.,
I -lotion then made by C.H.Smith, seconded by Pyles, that the mater Committee be
instructed to drab up a now water code and ordinance to embody the new rates; upon roll call,
all voted affirmatively.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS: Report of Clerk, in typewritten form was passed around,
while report of Treasurer for December also was passed to the council. Report of Water
Manager 11oretz $was read and motion made by C ' H. Smith, seconded by Pyles, that report be
accepted and placed on file; "upon roll call, all voted for the - motion.
TRANSFEROF 46000.00 FROH THE MATER. DEPT. OPERATING FUND TO TEE %MATER SI1tHING
BOND FUNDS was authorized by the council in a motion instructing the Treasurer to do so;
motion being made by Davis and seconded by Hays; upon roll call, all voted for the same.
