were read and motion was made by -Hays, seconded by Davis, that the bills be allowed.
Upon roll call, all voted for the motion.

001V 1UNICAT IONS : Communication read fxv m councilman Davis relative to
books being furnished: by the Library to parties living outside of the city limits
and; suggesting that School Distfict Eo. 1 be asked to pay �,�X X1.00 per year
for.each pupil residing outside of the city limits,,as the school insisted that pupils
should use the library facilities in connection with school work. He stated
further that the County commissioners had no legal authority to appropriate anything
for, the library;.; MMOMEMPIEF definite action
was. taken.
LICENSE APPLICATIONS were read from -yrs. Ii. %eichman and E. j. Reynolds
to conduct restaurants; motion made by Hays, seconded by 0. h. Smith that the
license be granted; upon roll call all voted for the motion.
GERTRuDE SPEIER AS AST. CI'T'Y O.I;i;aX: City ulerk advised the council -that
in accordance with ordinance iio. 264, he wished to appoint Gertrude Speier as
assistant city clerk. during 1928 to handle the registration books; motion made
by kyles, seconded by Lic ee that she be appointed.; upon roll call., all voted for
the mot—ion.
Report of Plater itiianager Moretz was read, showing gross earnings of V2573.40,
expense of operation §849.77, interest on bonds ';1080.00, leaving a net profit of
w643.63; motion made by C. h. Smith,` seconded: by Pyles,_ that -report be accepted
and placed on file; upon roll call all voted for the motion.
Report of City Clerk in typewritten form and report of Treasurer were passed
aroulid .
ORDINANCE #370 (VETOED BY IrL&YOR GRAY) RECONSIDERED: motion made by C. H.
Smith, seconded by Pyles, that Ordinance No, 370, being ''An ordinance fixing the salary
of the Street Commissioner of the City of Pasco, Washington and repealing certain
ordinances and parts of ordinances" be reconsidered. . Mayor ordered a
ro11 call, with the following result: Ayes, Davis,' Pyles, C. H. Smith, D.E.Smith
and tiyayde ; Noes, Hays and McGee; motion carried five to two.
Motion made by,C. H. Smith, seconded by Pyles, that the ordinance (No.370)
be passed over the Hayor's veto and that it become a lair; mayor ordered a roll call
with.follovring result: Ayes, Davis, Pyles, C.H.Smith, D.E.Smith and Wayde; Noes,
Hays -and TvIcGee. I:iotion prevailed five to two.

BURROUGHS ADDING I (CHINE FOR TREASURER ORDERED: A communication from
the Burroughs Adding !Machine Co. was passed around, in which they offered a factory
rebuilt electric drive adding machine; carrying their neer machine guarantee, at a
net price of X165.00. Motion was thereupon made by Davis, seconded by Hays, that
this -machine be purchased; upon roll call, all voted,for the motion.
ITEW TRUCK: Scott Roff answered: questions of the council relative to the new Ford.'
true_ Fe—proposed to furnish the city. Motion was then made by C. H. Smith, seconded
by (McGee, that the city purchasing agent be authorized ,to enter into a contract
for a 12 ton t°orii truces at a cost of approximately '�W5.00; motion carried six to
one upon roll call, as follows: Ayes, Davis, McGee, Pyles, C. H. Smith, D. E. Smith
and VJayde ; Noes, Hays.
A PROPOSED REORGANIZATION OF THE FIRE DEPT. was brought up by 1-1r. Victor
Pangle who. adressed the council; motion was made by TlcGee, seconded by C. H. Smith
that the Fire Committee confer with I:Ir. Pangle and ChiefTaylor- and bring in a
resolution at another council meeting embodying such changes as the committee would
recommend. Upon roll call, all voted for the motion excepting Hays, who was
temporarily out of the room.
COLUMBIA STR EET SIDEWALK ASSESS("NT ROLL AS SUBT.1ITTED BY THE STREET
SUPERINTENDENT was read to the council; motion made by C. H. Smith, seconded by
kilayde, that proposed assessment roll be placed on file and set for hearing on
February 7th.' 1928, at 8:30 0' clock P. I:VI. Upon roll call, all voted for the motion.
Pyles brought, up the question of a curtain across the windows at Syl_
vester`s poolhall and after discussion, the Chief stated he would have it removed.
ADJOUIU-11-1ENT : Lotion made by McGee, seconded by Hays, that the council
adjourn until Dec. 31st, at 8 21M. at which all unfinished business for the year was
to be cleaned up. Motion carried:.
