RESTAURANTS, SUCH AS PENCE'S Was asked for by the Clerk and the council, together with the
City Attorney held, that a seperate license was required for the restaurant,xnt hotel
and soft drini_.
REPORT OF THE POLICE JUDGE WAS D; motion made by C. H. Smith,' seconded
by Hays that the report be accepted and placed on file; roll call sho%Tied unanimous vote for
the motion. I
REPORTS OF C01.2�IIT TE E S: C. H. Smith reported on behalf of the Police &
License Committee that they were getting data from other cities as to traffic ordinances
and that they expected to submit a revised ordinance to the council at the nej-.t r-Dei;ing.
The Cemetery Committee re -ported relative to lots to be furnished the
County in the cemetery that nothing could be done until the next meeting of the
County ConP.issioners:

The-AN'layor submitted the Name of BALD1 IIT KAU AS CHIEF OF POLICE; motion
was made by Hays,,, seconded by-al:TcGee, that the appointment be confirmed. The
11a- yor ordered a roll call with the following results: Ayes, Hays and ?:McGee;
Does, C. H. Smith, D. E. Smith and Wayde; motion declared,lost three to two.,
Street Commissioner Ul.ayton stated that in trying to get ivater around trees
on Yakim Street between 3rd and 4th, several property owners objected to a ditch being
made in the parking; he was advised that as the parking belonged to the city he
was to go ahead with making ditches necessary to enable him to,mater the trees.

present: Councilmen Davis, Hays, Pyles, C. 'H. Smith, Wayde; absentees were
l�.Iayor Gray and Councilr,en l,lcGee and D.E.Smith. In the absence of Trlayor Gray,
Mayor Pro '.Vem U. ti. Smith called the council to order.

LICENSE APPLICATION OF AL SCHOT HELD UP TEMPORARILY: The question of
correct rate to be charge; Schodtt was brought up and motion was made by iyles,
seconded by Hays,* that Schott's application be held over until the next meeting
so that the matter could be investigated. L -lotion carried.
OTHER LICENSES GRANTED: !.lotion made by Pyles,.7 seconded by Bays, that
the balance of the applications for licenses be granted; upon roll call all
voted for the motion.

CEMETERY LOTS SOLD TO ITU14-KLIN COUNTY: The Cemetery committee that they. /ocffS.6,3 04
had arranged to let the County Commissioners have six plots of ground ( 72 graves)ip . g15,
at a cost of 1180.00, this to be paid for in January, 1328,. T:Totion made by
Hays; seconded by iayde,, that the report of the cemetery committee be accepted; carried.

ORDINANCE at the next meeli,ing.
Street Commissioner Clayton Called Attention to.the RANGEROUS CONDITION
OF 1,7AILS ON NIXON 6TREET, stating that the wallcs should be fixed but that the property
owners did not appear to want to do anything. He was instructed to interview
the property oviners again and make a further report at the next; meeting.

"2900.00 by cutting off out provided for in the budget for the Police, Street,
Treasurer and .mire Dept. and that they hoped to save some from the expense allowances.
