CITY COUNCIL CHAIMERS
Regular Session _ April 19th, 1927.
ROLL CALL: The city council Met in regular session with following members
present: Hayor Gray, Councilmen Hayti, Pyles, C. H. Smith and D. E. Smith.
MINUTES READ & APPROVED: 1Iinutes of the regular meeting held April 5th were
reed and approved.

vs City of Pasco was read. Motion rr .de by Pyles., seconded by Hays, that the. commz-mi._
cation be turned over to the City 4ttorney for investigation and report. Roll call
showed all voting for the motion.
BILL OF C. J. d'IIDRICK FOR 056.40 FOR LABOR- I'M MATE RItZ REROOFING DWELLING OF
pumper was submitted to the council, the Public Property Cormittee advising that the
work had -been done. Motion vias thereupon made by Bays, seconded by C. H. Smith that
the bill -be paid and clerk draw warrant for the same. (WARRANT 435 COVERS) .
BILL OF COX INVESTHEN'T' CO., AMOUNT "63.12, which had been refined to the Claims
committee at the last meeting was reported on by said committee. Correct amount of bill
should have been �'�57.62, as ��5.50 had been paid on clerk's bond by Wgrrant No. 5932.
-lotion made by C. H. Smith, seconded by Pylos.,• that the bill of N57.62 be allowed and
warrant be drawn for the sane. WARRANT NO. 6083 COVERS).
ON BO'T'H OF THE ABOVE BILLS, a roll call was ordered and unanimous vote was
cast for each motion.
REPORT OF LIGHT COMJ1ITTEE REGARDING LIGHTS ON SOUTH FRONT STREET: ` The Light
Committee reported that the P. P. & L. Co. would charge approximately w250.00 to install
the two lights wanted by -residents of South Front Street, but'that the power company
would build the line without additional cost if six residents would agree to tame
electricity regularly. No further action taken.
REPORTS 01' OFFICERS: Reports of City Clerk. and City Treasurer were passed arround
for the iniorr_iation of the members of the council.
REPORT OF WATER MkNAGER for period Feb. 16th to -:arch 16th, was read;notion made
by Pyles, seconded by C. H. Smith that report be accepted and placed on file; roll call
showed all voting for the mot -ion.
Water 11anager reported that it cost X93.00 to replace the inadequate water main
thru the alley be;veen llth and 12th Streets; motion made by Hays, seconded by Tyles
that the report be accepted and placed oh• rile ; roll call showed unanimous vote for the
motion,
CLAI'_I OF AIMY L1ARTELL ACCOUNT BURSTED WATER MAIN, which had been referred to
the city,attorney at a previous meeting was reported on, the attorney advisint that
Martell had agreed to accept 425.00, but that in accordance with the law, he would have to
wait sixty s from the time of filing claim before he could be paid. Ido action taken.
ORDINANCE�363; PROVIDING FOR TIS ACQUISITION OF AROCK CRUSHING PLANT AND
SITE cane up for third reading. A• S• Byers protested against the purchase of a rock
crusher; D. F. Rodkey also protested against adopting the ordinance stating that in his
opinion the rock would cost approximately 5x1.10 per yard. After come discussion, the
ordinance was read and motion was made by Pyles, seconded by u. H. atsith,' that the ordinance
be declared to have had its third reading. The mayor ordered a roll call and all voted
in favor of the Motion.
'lotion was then made by Pyles, ,seconded by U. H. Smith, that the matter of
final adoption of the ordinr_�nce be laid over until the nest regular Y_Zeeting. Roll call
showed all voting in fav6r of the motion.
W11. H:IYES APPOINTED AS CHIEF OF POLICE: The I?ayor having submitted the
name of Wm. Hays as his appointee to the position of chief of police, notion was made
by tyles, seconded by C. h. smith, that the matter of confirming or rejecting such ap-
pointment be laid over until the next regular meeting; motion carried:
LICENSE ORDINAINCES TO BE REVISED: A motion was made by C. H. Smith, seconded
by Hays, that the Police & License Committee and the City Attorney be instructed to
present a revised license ordinance at the next regular meeting. The I_Iayor ordered a
roll call and all voted in favor of the notion.
- TRAFFIC ORDIIMNCE TO BE AI:ENDED: Motion was made by Pyles, seconded by
e. H. Stith, that the City Attorney be instructed to present an ordinance amending
Section 8 -of Ordinance 360, to comply with the state law. Roll call showed all voting
for the o -rd inane e .
CONDITION OF THE, BUIDDING OCCUPIED BY THE PASCO DRUG CO., VMI RE IT 'WAS STRUCK
BY AN AUTOI':IOBILE, was brought up byt Pyles. After discussion, City Attorney stated he
would take the natter of making necessary repairs so as to prevent accidents up with IYIr.
Warden, who he understood had the renting of the building.
SALE OF OLD GASOLINE PUMP: Pyles asked the council ghat would be a fair
charge to -make for the old gasoline pump, as a man had asked for a price on it; after
discussion it was a ;reed that 1 25.00 would be a fair price.
ELECTRIC LIGHTS FOR GRAY'S EAST RIVERSIDE' ADDITION: The matter of addition -0 --
lights for urayz!s East -Riverside Addition being brought up, notion was made by Pyles, second-
ed by Hays, that the Matter be referred to the Light & eater Committee with power to act.
Roll call- sho:aed all voting for the notion.
