INVESTI:ENT OF CITY STNKIITG FUITJS: In the matter of investing sinking funds of the city, -the city attorney reported that city treasurer is authorized by Ordinance ,x359 to invest city sinking funds in Pftblic Utility Bonds of said city and that 'the bonds issued in connection with the present municipal Nater system are Public Utility Bonds within the terms of Ordinance #359. -hlotion molde by C. H. Smith, seconded by Hays, made a motion that the report of the Chief of Police be accepted as, a progress report on licenses; mayor ordered a roll call and x.11 voted in favor of the motion. Treasurer's report as of Jan. 31st, :ras passed around to the co-Luncil; 11ayde of the Finance Comittee called attention to the fact that the Current `]xpense fund was approxirzately ti?4000.00 in the red on the report and that heads of various departments must keep expenses dovrn to a, rlinimtu,l, or that the red figure might be X9.000.00 before the taxes came in. Davis supplemented this by figures as to hoer the current expense f-o1id had shrunk from over ; 12000. on Dec. 31st, 1924 to close to � 2000. in the red on :Dec. 31st, 1926. Pyles, seconded by C. H. Smith, made a motion that the report of the treasurer be accept -ed; roll call showed .all voting in favor of the motion.
