Regular Session _ Held December 21st, 1926.
ROLL CALL: The City Council met in regular session with following members
present: T/1ayor Jensen, Coiulcilmen Anderson, Hays, I:TcGee, Pyles, Robbins and Smith.
Absent, Councilmeja O'Herin.
STIPULATION IN SUIT OF FRANIKLIIT COUNTY IRRIGArTION DISTRICT No. 1 VS CITY OF PASCO:
Attorney B. B. Horrigan being present, the regular order of business was
temporarily suspended so that Lir. Horrigan might address the council regarding
proposed stipulation between �'raiEllin County Irrigation District No. 1 and the City
of Pasco. A copy of the stipulation was passed to the Council after beingread by
the City Clerk and this stipulation provides that the valuation of water furnished
as sta.-ted by former City Engineer Idurray be taken as the basis of settlement. That
both parties are to surrender warrants now held them, %�?2600. issued to the Irrigation
District, less �,?1362. warrants cancelled and 02560.30 worth of warrants now held
by the City, having been purchased by Former City Treasurer Puryear. After warrants
have been returned, the City is to be reimbursed for a�_n_ount due to the city for such
wortheless warrants and thereafter the City is to pay to the Irrigation District
1••$901.11, as the money is received by the City for taxes due. The entire
matter was referred to the Judiciary and Finance Committee with instructions to report
at the ne�,.t meeting.
MINUTES READ &. APPROVED: The minutes of meetings held November 16th and December 7th,
as well as adjourned meetings held Nov. 19th and Nov. 22nd were read and approved.

LETTER FRONT J. W. Clemans, advising that it was necessary for hi -,-ii to hire a man to help
at the cemetery was read; as23idg that the men ( Chas. Greenwood) be allowed fourteen
hours at 50 cents per hour. Letter referred to Claims Coimmittee to report at next
meeting, Dec. 30th.

PROPOSED LEGISLATION BY STATE LEGISLATURE RELATIVE TO 1dOTOR VEHICLE GASOLINE TAX, ETC.
A letter from I+:Iayor Tennant of Tacoma was read, asking the support of the city council
in furthering proposed measure to be introduced at the next session of the legislature;
this measure would provide2 for a return to incorporated cities and towns of a sum
equivalent to two mills of their assessed valuation, which in the case of Pasco, would
amount to more than X3800.00, such money to be used in street work. motion made by
Robbins, seconded by IIcGee, that the City Clerk be instructed to write to Representative
Stinson, that the city council is in favor of the proposition. Roll call shored a
unanimous vote for the motion.
The request of the City Treasurer for a new adding machine was turned over to the Public
Property Committee for handling.
Communication from the Pacific Pourer & Light Co. relative to street lights at certain
points, was turned over to the Light &,Plater Committee.
Petition of Andrew Hedburg for a permit to construct an addition to his building
on Yakima Street,,letween Tacoma & First Streets, was ordered filed, as he had been given
permission to go ahead.
APPLICATION OF J. E. COI:�R for a license at 122 West Lewis Street, for pool room and
soft drink establishment was read. Motion made by Robbins, seconded by Anderson, that
the license be granted. Roll. call showed all voting in favor of the motion.
REPOnTS OF 001,111ITTEES: dater Committee skated they had no further report to make regarding
installation,of hydrants, Robbins advising that in order to get a cut in the insurance
rate, it would be necessary to install four inch pipes. I.iatter was placed on the
table to be carried over until next year.

ordered placed on file.

CANVASS OF VOTES AT THE CITY GENERAL ELECTION HELD DECEIBER 7th, 1926.
The City Council canvassed the votes cast at the City General Election, December 7th, 1926
and found an error of five votes in the tabulation of votes of 0. W. Robbins. Final
votes in the election were as follows:
The Clerk was instructed to advise the officials elected that the votes
had been canvassed by the City Council and that they had been found elected.
The Clerk was instructed to have all claims against the city in by December 29th,
so that they could be passed upon by the reti.rtng council at an adjourned meeting on
December 30th.
