Held Nov. 22nd, 1926.

ROLL CALL: The City Council met in an adjourned meeting Nov. 22nd, 1926, for
the purpose of clearing up unfinished business not completed on the original meeting
night (Nov. 16th) . Roll call showed following present: Idkayor Jensen,
Councilmen Anderson, Hays, L.cGee and Smith. Absentees were Councilmen O'Herin,
Pyles and Robbins. _lccount.laek of heat in the Council Chambers, the meeting
was adjourned to the City Clerk's office.
PROPOSED ET ERGENCY ORDINANCE ,-363, DECLIAMING EKERGENCY EXISTED AND APPROPRIATING
2445.31 was read; motion made by Anderson, seconded.by Hays that ordinance be
declared to have had its.first reading. Upon roll call,, all voted in favor
of the motion.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by IIays, that the ordin-,nce be given its second
reading by tiljle only. Roll call showed all in favor of the motion.
At this pointed Councilman Robbins entered the room and was.marked as being
present.
Iylotion by Anderson, senonded by ldcGee, that the ordinance be declared to have
had its second reading. Roll call showed all in favor of the motion.
ORDINFLNCE #362, SALARIES FOR CITY EMPLOYES FOR TIDE YEAR 1927: Ordinance #362
was read. alotion was made by Anderson, seconded by Hays, that the portion of the
ordinance relating to Fire Chief be stricken. Upon roll call., all voted in
favor of the motion.
Tdotion made by 11cGee, seconded by Hays, that the portion of the
ordinance relating to an Assistant ,Street Commissioner be stricken. Upon roll_
call, all voted in favor of the motion.
llotion made by Anderson, seconded by Hays, that in the portion of the
salary o-rdin,-:nce relating to City Attorney, the salary be fixed at $60.00 per month.
Roll call showed following votes on the motion: Ayes, Anderson, Hays, T:4cGee;
Noes, Robbins and Smith: Motion declared to have lost.
Robbins moved, seconded by I:IcGee, for a reconsideration of the vote
and motion relating to cut on city attorney's salary. Roll call showed all
voting in favor of a reconsideration.
Motion then made by Anderson, seconded by Hays, that the portion of
the salary ordinance relating to the City Attorney be changed to make his salary
$60.00 per month. I:+Iayor ordered a. roll call, r,ith the follovdng result: Ayes,
Anderson, Hays, ldcGee and Robbins; Noes, Smith.
Ordinance as revised was then read and motion was made by Robbins, seconded
by Smith, that Ordinance No. 362 be declared to have had its third reading.
Roll call indicated a unanimous vote for the motion.
Motion by Robbins, seconded by Smith, that the ordinance be declared adopted
as read. Mayor ordered u• roll call and all voted in favor of the motion.
Robbins moved that the emergency ordinance be made to read x;2625.31 instead
of $2435.31; there being no second, the motion was not put, although the council
in general discussion decided that the amount to be covered by the emergency
ordinance would be $2625.31, this amount to be raised by deducting the following
amounts originally appropriated in the 1927 budget : -
Cut from Fire Dept.'(Fire Chief) 1680.00
Cut From Library, _ _ ° 300.00
Cut from Pa.rl-s _ _ _ 46 5.31
Cut from C ty Attorney _ 380.00
Total 2625.31
It rias deemed advisable to raise the original amount in the emergency ordinance by
$200.00 and City Clerk reported that with October expenditures added and two months
still to go, the two departments exceeding the budget appear as follows:'
Street Dept., budget allowance 06730.00, actually spent $8211,55; over-
expenditure ofh181.55. °
Parks, Budget p3080.00, actually spent �j';3478.85; over_eXpenditure 8398.85.
This made total excess e1,qpenditure for both depa-rt;<:ents 51880.40.
City Clerk also advised the council he had verbally advised the Chairman
of the Park Board of the excess expenditure.
BUDGET ORDINY0TCE 7#L361, ADOPTING T19, BUDGET FOR 1927: Changes reconciling figures
in the ordinance adopting the budget for the year 1927 having been made on the basis as
outlined above, Robbins moved, seconded by Smith, after revised ordinance had been
read, that the ordinance be declared to have had its third reading. Roll. call
showed a unanimous vote for the motion. --
I;!otion by Robbins, seconded by Anderson, that the budget ordinance (To.361)
stand adopted as read. Roll call showed all voting in favor of the motion.
TELEPHONE IIT CITE' CLERK'S OFFICE: Lotion made by Robbins, seconded ths by Anderson,
that an extension telephone from the City Treasurer's phone' be put in the City
Clerk's office. Roll call shop== -,ea a. unanimous vote in favor of the motion.
CLAIMS: The claim of members of the Police Dept. for time cut from pay roll for the
month of October, ;-hiie they were attending court at Yakima as witnesses in a state
case, was read. I.+lotion made by Bobbins, seconded by Smith, that the claim be
allowed and that the City Clerk draw warrants for the same. These claims were as

The T,layor ordered a roll call with the following result: Ayes, Hays, 1c Gee,
Robbins and Smith; Noes, Anderson. Tvlotion declared to have carried.

AND PA SCO PLUT,IBING & HEATING CO., which had been held up account of a ga rnisriaent
action, and city attorney having said it was OK to pay the bill, was read. TIotion
made by Hays, seconded by 2,.nderson, that the bill be allowed and City Clerk draw
vvar-rants for the sane. Upon roll call, all voted in favor of the motion with
the exception of T:icGee, who v,as shown as "Not Voting".
