RULES & REGULATIONS OF WATER DEPARTMENT: - - A1ew rules- and regulations of the Water Department; filed Sept. Yamauchi-to'operate a -restaurant at 106 Tacoma St. ' Mayor directed a roll -call; Ayes, Hayes, Pyles, Robbins. N -o, O'Herin and Smith. CITY'TREASURER'S REPORT for the month of August was brought before the City Council and ordered placed on file by the Mayor. ADVERTISE FOR BIDS ON COAL: Motion by O'Herin, seconded by Smith, that if coal School Board has available is acceptable, that the city accept the School Board's proposition and proceed to advertise for a car of coal. Mayor directed a roll -call: Ayes, Hayes, O'Herin, Rmbbins and Smith. Pyles absent. CITY FLAG POLE TO BE INSPECTED: Smith called attention to the condition of the flag pole; referred to Public Property Committee. PARKING ON FOURTH STREET. Pyles called attention to manner in which cars were being parked on Fourth Street, particularly to dangerous conditions at alley between Pence's and the Liberty Theatre. Referred to Police Committee.. On motion by O'Herin, seconded by Smith, Street Superintendent is to be instructed to mark parking strips on Fourth St. and that Police Committee is tobring in at the next meeting, a report in regard to parking. Mayor called for a roll -call; Ayes, unanimous. Motion made by Robbins, seconded by Hayes, that the Police Committee be instructed to report in writing at the next regular meeting on revision of the Parking Ordinance, such revision to embody street and intersection signs, parking near hydrants, painting of parking strips, etc. Carried unanimously. MEETING TO CONSIDER BUDGET: Motion by O'Herin, seconded by Smith, that the Mayor call a special meeting of the City Council sometime prior to final meeting for approving the budget, at which special muting City Council was to consider matter of salaries and wages of city employ- es in various departments. Carried. Matter of light.da in alleys was referred to Light Committee. Mayor announced that he had appointed D. J. Speier as City Clerk to sacceed Earl Churchman.
