IV -es, — --,- -, & §- 2 1 , ,- , tte:� t City Clerk Fassed and «y, -,roved *.this 2/4--dday of Sept. 19-'6. k3 F.ESOLUTION ADOPTED BY CITY COUNCIL OF ''ASCO, AT 1,,1EETIidG OF SEPTEI03ER 21st, 1926: Be it resolved bythe City Uouncil of the City of Pasco,, that, whereas., the Committee on Streets & Alleys of'the said City Council has reported to the City Council that in its judgment the public convenience and safety requires thaf a sidewalk be constructed along the " Southerly side of Columbia. St. in Pasco from the intersection of :Fifth St.on the East to the intersection of Sixth St.,and from the intersection of 6ixth St.to the intersection of Seventh St. on the West: 44 And Whereas the said City Uouncil deems the construction of such sidewalk necessary for the public, Nowa, therefore, it is hereby resolved by the City Council of the Uity of Pasco, Washington, thata sidewalk as hereinafter specified be and the same is hereby ordered constructed along the southerly side of said street as above set out and the City Clerk of the said city of Pasco is hereby ordered and directed to serve, or cause to be served, notice in writing upon the owners of each lot, block, or parcel of land, immediately abutting upon the southerly side of said street where such sidewalk is to be constructed, requiring such owners to construct such sidewalk in accordance with the teras and providions of this resolution, to -wit: Said sidewialk shall be a substantial cement or concrete sidewalk five feet wride, extending along the front end of each of the lots or parcels ofland hereinafter described and extending al- so to the intersection with the curb lines of 5th, 6th and 7th Streets. iVhe method and material to be ­used in constructing said sidewalk shall be as follows: The said sidewalk shall be constructed of concrete, shall be five feet in width and shall be sat out a distance of four feet from the Northerly line of the lots or parcels of land herein- after described; that is to say,it shall leave a strip 4 feet in width between the southerly edge of the sidewalk and the northerly .property line. i:he concrete for said sidewalk shall be compound- ed of -one part best quality Portland cement to three parts of clean sharp sand and six & one-half parts crushed rock or clean hard gravel. ,.1ehe space over ,Lich the walk is to be laid shall be excavated to the proper sub -grade, which -shall be of sufficient depth to receive the required material and thoroughly rolled or tamped. Upon this sub grade shall be spread 'gravel or cinders, to suxh depth that after being thoroughly tamped it shall have a depth of at least four inch and a finished surface parallel with the walk surface when finished and not less than four inches below the walk surface. upon this foundation shall be placed the concrete as described in section 1, to such depth that when properly tamped, it shall have a thickness of not less than V2? inches, tamped until free mortar or water appears on the surface. Immediately upon this concrete shall be placed the nearing sur- face composed of three parts of clean sharp sand and two parts best quality Cortland cement, properly nixed. The wearing surface shall be given a "Float" or sand finish not trowelled down smooth and then shall be cut one fourth of an inch deep down the center of the entire walk and every two_& one-half feet across said walk. Said sidewalk shall be flush against the frontx2:i line of the abutting lot, and the top surface thereof shall be upon the established grade as shown -by the record thereof.7- in the office of the City Clerk. And the estimated cost of said sidewalk is to sum of twenty-seven (27�) cents per square foot of the surface area thereof: .Such sidewalks shall be constructed along the northerly or front end of the following described lots or parcels of land, towit: Along the North end of :[lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 of Block 21, also along the North end of Lott 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, '7., 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 of Block 22, all in Gerry,'s Addition to the Towyn, now City, of casco, Washington: -And it is further resolved by the said City Uouncil that in Jftm case such sidevialk is not constructed ==dmze±x in accordance with the notice to be given as herein provided and within ''the tire therein fixed, then the Co,}_iittee on Streets & Alleys of the City of Vasco shall proceed to construct such'sidewralk and shall report the same to the City Uouncil in the manner provided by law. The above resolution was padded and adopted by the City Council of the City of Pasco in its regular ,meeting on Tuesday, the 21st day of September, 1926 - City Clerk.
