was read, and on motion by U'Herin duly second&d by 6mith that the communication be placed
on file with the City Clerk, the .Mayor directed a Roll Call. Ayes, Unanimous.
A Communication from the Ui V Treasurer, advising that on account of extra work
in her office, she had not yet been able to complete the 1dont.hly report for September, 1925.E

Ordinance Tao. 356, repealing Urd. Iqo. 353, thereby abandoning. the office of _02PUTY
City Treasurer, having been duly declared to have had its third reading, on motion by
U'herin duly seconded by .nobbins that said ordinance be, adopted as read, the kilayo-r. directed

RESOLUTION'
A ��tESOLU`i'IOIT AUTHORIZIIuG REFUNDING �,;5 Water :Deposit and providing that all delinquent
water rents be charged against the property (become -a lein against. the property) was read, -

"WEEREAS; Rule three of the rode governing the casco I:.lanicipa.l eater jystem provides
for a deposit of i�ive uollars from each .pater user to protect the amity against delinquent

And WHEREAS; this system has been in us e for the past twenty months and mares a
great deal of clerical work in the keeping of the records of the v,ater Department,
and does not in a great many in;:t gnces do what it is intended W do in protecting the
Ui ty;
And VIH RL!'AS; Remington 6: ballingers Uode, 6ection No, 7988 gives the City ample
protection as follows; "Cities ovrning their own Vlaterworks, electric light or power plants;
are ,hereby granted a lien for delinquent and unpaid charges for water or electric light,
or power, against the premises to which the same has been furnished".
Now, THE:KEFOEE, Be it resolved, that th:; city 'Treasurer, as custodi' n of the Viate-r
Deposit t°tn.d, be authorized and is hereby instructed to refund all water deposits held by
her after the 51st. day of uctone-r 1925, provided the depositor shows a receipt for all
water charges against the property assessed and. payable T-lovembdr lst., 1925,,, and that
the eater Department rely on the :Law of the estate of �,vashington for protection againtt
delinquent water charges.

local city banks, the business houses of .the UI'TY asked for extrapolice protection
at this -ia.me, and on motion by O'Herin duly seconded. "by tyles that the Police committee
investigate and authorize putting on e$tr a police for the time being, the Mayor directed
