CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS REGULAR SESSION Aug. 1$,1925'. x�a:x<xT ROLL CALL: The City Council met in Regular Session with the following i;iembers present, Mayor Jensen, Councilmen Anderson, Hayes, McGee, O'Herin, Pyles, Robbins, and Smith. 0OMItNNICATIONS: Chief of Police, - A Communication from E.A.Puryear, dated AuI. 18th, 1925 to the City Council requesting an investigation of the charges upon which the Mayor recently based his order of removal of the said chief of police, was read and ordered placed on file by the Mayor. Kiwanis Club of Pasco, - A Communication from the Kiwanis Club of Pasco, signed by W.R.Cox, Chair— man of the Public Affairs Comiiiittee, dated Aug. 18th, 1925) soliciting the co-operation of the City Council in cleaning up the City, thereby improving the sanitary condition, etc., requesting that the City include the sum of $2C0 in'their 1926 Budget for such purpose, was read., and after the matter was more fully explained by Mr. Cox, on motim by O'Herin duly seconded by Smith that the communication be placed on file with the City Clerk to be considered at the time of making up the city budget, the Mayor directed a Roll Call. Councilman McGee reported on the rriatter of the City taking ovdr the handling. of thea Auto Park from.the Chamber of Com�lerce; and a Committee from the Ohamber of Com- merce, S. Roff and C-.S.Churchman appeared before the council relative to the matter; -and upori_motion,by O'Herin duly seconded by Robbins that the Public Property Committee be and they are, hereby instructed to negotiate for the taking over -,of the auto pm rk by the City, to be handled in connection with the other parks, and to if possible provide for the financing of same, and to�report at the next regular meeting of the Coiixicil, the Mayor. directed a Roll Call. COMMITTEE APPOINTED TO CALL MEETING TO CHECK UP CHARGES AGAINST CHIEF OF POLICE.- on OLICE.On motion -by O'Herin duly seconded by Pyles that a committee of two -be appointed by the -Mayor to call a meeting of the City Council, not -later than Sept. lst, for the purpose of considering charges conferred against the Chief of Police, E.A.Puryear, the Mayor directed a Roll Call. Lewis -St., the Mayor directed a Roll Call, Ayes, Anderson, Hayes, McGee, O'Herin, Pyles, -Robbins and Smith. - DUPLICATE LIGHTS REPORTED AT CLI-iRK AND TACOMA STS.: Councilman Smith reported duplicate lights at Clarke and Tacoma Sts: and requested that one be removed to corner of Coltujbia and Tacoma Sts., stating that a light was badly needed at that place.. Thematter was referred to the Light Committee to investigate and report at the next Regular. Session of the City Council. W..E.Burns appeared beforethe City Opuncil requesting that the trash and accumulation of Russian Thistle be removed from the Old Site of U.S.Ldy. adjoining his property, account the same being a fire hazzard.
