On motion by O'Herin duly seconded by Anderson that the City Attorney be in-
structed to ;;repo.re ars ordinance defining the duties of the Purchasing Agent and repealing
certain other- ordinances relating there to, the i•Iayor directed Roll Call. Dyes, I:nderson,

On notion by O'Herin duly -seconded by 1.IcGee the form of contract as prepared
by Engineer 1.1urray for purchase of _-ipe from the Cascade Pipe and Fltune Co. for the Pro-
posed ;later '.Forks Improvement be accepted, the 14ayor directed Roll Call. Dyes, Unanimous.
It was agreed by the Councilmen that this contract should be dated as of this
date.

The water Superintendent, 1.1cl+arland expressed some difficulty arrising from
excess water bills, due to the Iter user allowing the Water to run in order to keep it
from freezing, and also due to the meters not having been read the previous month, and a
minimum only beim charged for the month; and on motion by I.1cGee duly seconded by•Pyles
that this matter be referred to the ':;iter Committee, the 11ayor directed Roll Call. Lyes,
Unanimous.

The R.R. Co. having objected to the C-ause c:hich provided for the maint--inance
of t'zeir Steam Plant and the same to be used by the C_ty in case of emei•L;ency, the I:Iayor
suggested, as an alternative, for the Council to look into the matter of providing
different power for one of the pumping Louts, which would enable the constant operation
of the - —iips, upon which the City's cjater� supply depends.

questing that Ers Rena Landt be appointed Deputy City Treasurer, was read and ordered

be instructed to remove the parking strip from the middle of the street on East Lewis,
