October 7th, 1924.
The Council met in regular session with Hayor Gannon presiding.
The following answered roll call: Goodell, Jewell; Nelson,, O'Herin,' Pyles, and Robbins.
The minutes of Aug 26th;` Seot. 2nd,' 16th, and 25th; werevread and there being no
objections the mayor declared them approved as read.

O'Herin seeonde by Robbins moved that the bills be alloyed as react and warrants drawn
X% same.
Upon roll call all cpuncilmen voted. Yes.
Members of the school board appeared before the council and asked if they could be
brought into the irrigation district to get cheaper rates for water.
O'Herin Seco de by Nelson moved that this question be placed on file for future reference.
Carried.
Application of S. Linlpus for permit tb keep hogs on his property in Riverside addition read.
Pyles seconded by Nelson moved that the request be granted.
O'Herin seconded by Robbins moved ab a substitute to Mr. Pyles motion that the request be
referred to the proper authority.
Carried,
Councilman Bryan enters councilroom.
O'Herin senonded by Jewell moved that a letter from the Turbin Seder Machine'Co as just
react be referred to the proper committee and they report at the neo meeting,
Carried.
Application of A. 111. Chellis to operate. a soft drink antablishment read.
Robbins seconded by Pyles motred that a license fixe gra3tted,
Carried.
Application of R. A. Gantenbein to ope rtae Eagle Hotel read,
Pyles seeonded.by Nelson moved that a license be granted.
Carried.
Appliaction of E. J. Reynolds tip operAte a dance hall read.
Nelson seconded by Pyles moved that a license be granted,
Carried.
Masonic Temple association application for dance hall license read.
Robbins seconde. by Nelson moved that a license be granted.

Remonntrances in regard to assessments on lots for irrigation water in district 44 signed
by several property owners were raed.
O'Herin seconded by Robbins moved that the correspondence be placed on file to be brought
up for consideration after vie receive Courts d--cision in case of.Carstens versus, City of
Pasco now pending.
Carried.
Report of Police Judge Warden read,
O'Herin seconded by Jewell moved that the.report be acceoted and placed on file.
Carried.
Mayor Gannon' appointed Joe Houston as police attendant.
O'Herin seconded by Robbins moved that the appointedent be conftrmed.
Carried.
Robbins seconded by Pyles moved that Council -man O'Herin be authorized to get legal information
in regard to•feasiblity of new bond issue for.water system consolidation and report at
next meeting.
Carried.
Nelson seconded by O'Herin moved that the proposition of furnishing the Northern Pacific
Railway Comopany wet er for all purposes be referr::d to the eater committee and they report
to council.
Carried.
The following election officiers viere appointed:
Precinct 1= Llrs.' 11. H. Gray Johnson, H. R. Lawrence, and lIrs. R. P. Merecer.
Precinct 2- Mrs . Ada Culver, Mrs. J. F. McLaughlin;, acid Mrs . Tom ' Glavin.

Claim for damages from G. H. Willison in the amount of $40.00 read.
O'Herin seconded by Goodell moved that the claim be allowed and warrant draWn for same.
Carried all yes,
O'Herin seconde btu moved that warrant be issued from water fund.
Carried.
Goddell seconded by Nelson moved we adjourn.
Carried.
