The following answered roll call: Jewll, Nelson, O'Herin, Pyles, and Robbins. The minutes of August 19th, were read and therebeing #o objections the Mayor declared them approved .as read. Upon roll call all councilmen voted. Yes. 72 Letter from the Fire Department in regard to fire hydrabts read. O'Herin seconded by Pyles moved that the letter be placed on file. Carried. Letter from G. H. Allen asking for a reduction on his water bill read. O'Herin seconded by Pyles moted that the matter be referred to the water committee and they bring in a report as to advisiblity of reducing Mr. Allen's bill as to irrigation assesments on his property. Carried. Letter from Police Chief of Mr. James Shannon, and Mr. Shannon's reply in regard to hydrants on A. Street read. O'Herin seconded by Jewell moved that the ,atter be referre,,' to the water committee to take up with the Northern Pacific Railway Company to get more definite answer as to what we can expect as to city liablity. Carried. Letter from 14r. Moretz asking authority to purchase some water meters read. Pyles seconded by O'Herin moved that Mr. Moretz be authorized to order meters. Carried. Letter from Mr. J. J. B€adraun in regard to bill for $1313.25 read. O'Herin seconded by Jewell moved that the letter be referred. to the City Attorney. Carried. Letter from Pacific Power and Light Company in reagrd to certain sketches read. O'Herin seconded by Jewell moved that the letter be referred to Mr. R. M. Murray and he comply with request. Carried. Councilman Bryan enters room. Petition for lights at First and Shoshone 2:!.tees read. O'Herin seconded ty Jewell moved that the peition be referred to the light and water committee abd they report to council. Carried. O'Herin reported that it was necessary for the water committee to get further data before they could make a 'report as to consolidating of the two water systems. Mr. O'Herin reported it would take about$500.00 for material to put pipe line to Mr. Russell's property in O'Keefe's Second Addition. O'Herin seconded by Pyles moved that the committee be further instructed to confer with property owners as to whether or not they would lay the pipe if the city buys it. Carried. Mr. Davis said that in reading the lease from the Northern Pacific Railway Com any on the City Park that it could not be rented for a natatorium unless a waiver is gotten for which he has written. Report of Police Judge Warden read. O'Herin seconded bJ Jewell moved that the report be accepted as read. Carried. Proposed garage ordinance was boot up for action. O'Herin seconde by Pyles mobeed that section three be stricken from the ordinanc e Carried. O'Herin seconded by Pyles moved that the ordinance be carried over until the next meeting, the interested parties confer and meet with the City Attorney and fire chief and determine what is necessary And report to the council at the nex$ meeting. Carried. /� f The following resolution was read: Whereas the City Cou:cil of the City of Pasco met in regular session on Tuesday the 2nd day of September 1924 to consider the preliminary budget for the City of Pasco for the year 1925. and having made such revisions as deemed advisable in said budget as submitted by the City Clerk of the said City of Pasco, NOW TH :RE;FORE BE IT MSOLVED: That the said preliminary budget so considered be and same id hereby ordered placed on file for the information ffffi any tax payer who may call air the office of the City Clerk for information concerning same or for copies thereof; and BE IT FUR,I:HER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Pasco give due notice that said preliminary budget is on file and that the City Council will meet Monday, the 6th day of October 1924, at the hour of 8 o'clock pit the City Hall in the City of Pasco for the purpose of fixing the final budget and making tax levies in accordance therewith, that the clerk cause such notice to be published once each week for two successive weeks immediately fol- lowing this resolution. O'Herin seconded by Pyles moted that the resolution be adopted as read. Carried. Assessment rolls for LIDS J25,43, and 44 read. O'Herin seconded by Plies moved that the clerk give notice that hearing on assessment rolls (for districts 25, 43 and 44 be set for October 7th, 1924.. Carried. Pyles seconded by O'Hcrin moved that the City Attorney investigate in regard to underground crossing on Lewis Street and see what can be done. Carried.
