February 19; 1924,
The Council met in regular session with Mayor Gannon 1=c�siding.
The following answered roll call:Bryan,, Goodell, Jewell,' Nelson, O'Herin,' Pyles; Robbins.
The minutes of the 5th and 7thirere read and there being no objections the mayor declared
them approved as read. ,
A letter from the U. S. Rubber Company offering 250 feet of hose at 01.30 per foot less
a 20 discount if paid within ten days was read.
Nelson seconded by O'Herin moved we accept offer of the U. S. Hubber Company and clerk
forward voucher for their signature and upon receipt of same duly signed issue warrants.
Up6n roll call all councilmen voted YES.
Letter from J. 111. Hamilton, District Engineer., in regard to permanent highway mileage
within the city of Pasco and stating that they would maintain East Lewis street to the
Pplace where the parking strips in the streeft cowz nee and
Fpurth Street to the north side of the court house block was read.
Letter from Mr. Carsten's to Mr. C. W. Johnson in regard to lots on the east side eras read.
O'Herin seconded bylTelson moved that the letter be placed on file.
Carried.
Lotter from A. B. .Peck making offer on lots for tank site was read.
The tank site committee reported that Mr. Peck had signed a quit claim deed and that they
recommend the purchase of his lots.
Robbind seconded by Goodell moved that we accept report of the committee and they be
discharged.
Carried.
'Herin seconded by Robbins moved that former action of the council in reference to ,
purchase of property from Ir. -Peek and the county be confirmed and the clerk drag warrant
upon voucher duly signed .- 3
Upon -roll call all councilmen voted. YES.
Mr. Rogers of the Btxroughs Adding Machine Company -spoke in regard to posting machines.
Goodell seconded by Pyles moved that actidn be defwred until some later date.
Carried.
The committee to obtain city attoeney reported they had not found an attorney as het.
Chief of Polife -Puryear's reply to charges made by E. Vl. Newman;' D. J. Staats, and G. E.
ARnold was read.
Mr. Robbins reported icor the majority of the committee consisting of Robbins and Jewell.
They c6nfirm report of chief of police and that there are no. grounds for the complaint.
Comp&ikinants out of order and not explicit and appears to be personal affair. They report
that If charges are true they shpAld take same"in a legal manner. Council should not be
harrassed with complaints of a few individuals„
Mr. Pyles reported for the minority of the committee. He reported that Mr. Clayton
advised horn that Yr. Puryear said he did not have to keep a record of the meals any longer..
This occurred November lst. lair. Pyles said he told 1,Ir. Clayton to keep a record of them
in December and that the city paid for 61 meals more than Clayton had a record of Mid
that Mr. Puryaer said these had been fed on Sundays and Holidays; when Clayton was clot
working. There was also a difference in nur:iber of meals City Cafe showed they fuzmished
and number paid for. Can not tell which is correct as a poor record kept.
OtHerin seconded by Robbins moved that the report of the majority of the committee be
accepted and concurred with and the committee be discharged.
Carried.
ter. Staats reported that Mr. Oeffreys would represent him.
The following motion .made by Goodell and Seconded by Pyles was made before the previous-
mdttionwas carried but lost when previous motion passed.

Pyles seconded by Nelson moved we reconsider action on previous motion.
Upon roll call Bryan; Goodell; Nelson, O'Herin and Pyles voted YES. Jewell and Robbins No.
Pyles seconded by Nelson moved that city council go on record as favoring 1,Ir. Jeffreys to
represent Mr. Staats.
Uptn roll call, Bryan, Goodell, Jewell, Nelson, O'Herin, Pylesvoted Yes Robbins No.
Puryaer objected that actien be taken tonight as he did not have counsel here.
Goodell seconded by Nelson moved that the glerk notify MrA Belaere to appear before the
council on March 4th to show cause wh:v hW license should not be revoked.

Contract with Chicago Bridge and Iron Vlorks was read.
Pyles seconded by Nelson moved that the contract of the Chicago Bridge and Iron Works be
executed by the mayor and city clerk as read and engineers specifications govern as to
deftils.
Uphn roll call all councilmen voted YES.
Petition smgned by property owenrs in Helm's Second and O'Keefe's second-dditions was read.
O'Herin seconded by Pyles moved that the petition be referred to the water manager and
he report at the next regular meeting as to his findings.
Carried.
Nelson seconded by Pyles moved that the Mr. Giezentanners- Garbage Collect&r, appear aha
the next regular metting of the council and give report of money taken in and ghat he
is. doing at the present time.

Robbins seconded by Pyles moved thatthe street and alley cormittee be instructed to
deteemine how much t#e grading only of Sylvester Street will cost and ascertain price of
lot of groung Tdr. Ketner wishes to sell to. the city.
Carried.
Water Manager Candee reported that the building on the city lot is not large enough and
_ would cost to much to repair to mare it suitable for a supl)ly house dor the water dept-
partment but that he could use the old pump house.

Robbins seconded by Nelson moved that Skater manager Candee determin whattools his
department will need and report at nextvregular meeting.
Carried.
Levi Clayton petitioned the council for a light at the corner of Tacoma and Clarke Sts.
Robbins seconded by. Nelson moved that' the matter be referred to t1it light. and water
committee.
Carried.
Robbins nominated E. A. Davis for city attorney.
Nelson seconded by Robbins moved that tkw nominations be closed.
Carried.
0=Herin s edonded by Jewell moged that the clerk be instructed to cast a unanimous 11allot
for Iii. Davis as city attorney.
Upon roll call all councilmen voted YES.
Pyles seconded by Bryan moved that the meeting adjourn.to meet Feb 28th at 8 P.M.
