Upon roll call all councilmen voted YES. Letter from Northwestern Fire Apparatus in regard to bill for freight and supplies read. Nelson seconded by Pyles moved that the clerk write and get itemized statement of bill for $26.00 and send vouchers to be 3roperly made out. Carried. A letter from -E. W. Newman, D. J. Staats and G. E. Arnold in regard to the police depart- ment was read. O'Herin seconded bjr Robbins moved that the mayor appoint a special committee to in- vestigate charges brought against police department as submitted and report back to council and chief be furnis4ed copy of charges and he file statement with the committee. Upon roll call all councilmen voted Yes with the exception of Goodell and he voted 110. Mayor appointed Robbins; Jewell and Pyles. Letter from D. Burt Bryan to J. W. Hamilton,Mr. Hamilton's reply and letter from James Allen, State Highway Engineer,* to D. Burt Bryan read. Same dealt with permanent highway. Attorney Johnson reported that Mr. Carstens wants $500.00 for five lots suggested for tank site and city pay assesments of about $10.00 due. Engineer Murray reported he had four other sites in vivw. Bryan and Jewell appointed to go with water committee and Engineer Murray to see sites. Report of Police Judge Bean read. O'Herin seconded by Nelson moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Carried. Bryan seconded by Nelson moved that the light and water committee take up cluster light matter with the Pacific Power and: Light Company and get some definite action. Carried. 36 O'Herin seconded by Robbi.,Us moved that in reference' to charges.preferred against the police department that answer be submitted as .soon as possible and committee appointed to investigate, be prepared to report at; the next rel3ialar meeting of the city council. Carried. O'Herin seconded by Pyles moved that the mayor and city clekk be authorized to take over and z receipt for water !system from Pacififf Power and Light Co. Carried. Robbins seconded by Felson moved that a special committee of three be appointed to interview attorneys with view of obtaining a city attorney. Carried. Nelsons Bryan and Jewell appointed. a Robbins seconded by O'Herim moved that the meeting adjourn. � Carried.
