The Council met in regular session ith M yor Gannon presiding.

The minutes of Sept. 4th and 6th were read.
Nelson seconded by Pyles moved that the minutes be emended as follows: the matter of
hiring m engineer for investigation on piping the city for gas be referred to the Street
and alley dommittee.
Carried.
letter from the City Clerk at Kennewick was read.
Pyles s5conded by Goodell moved that the City Clerk write the Clerk at Kennewick that a
committee his be appointed to investigate the hiring of an engineer to investigate the
gas situation and to dvise them when committee reports and their findings.
Carried.
Letter from the Eureka Fire Hose Department of the U. S. Rubber Cc was read.
Nelson seconded by Bryan moved t t the purchasing agent be instructed to purchase 250
feet of fir-- hose.
Upon roll call e:ll councilmen voted YES.
Quotations on trees for the cemeta ry were read as follows:
Washington Nursery Company,
12# catnlpas,30 soft males and 50 Siberian Elm 060.00
Home Nursery Company's pi"ice on the same amount of trees was Jp67.00
Goodell seconded by Pyles moved that the M yor appoint n committee to see if there are
enough funds in the cemetary fund to purchase trees and the committee to instrnetbthe
purchasing agent to purchase the trees if there are enough fronds.
Carried.
Jewell, Nelson and Pyles appointed.
Report of Mrs Carie Crowell Police Matron was read.
Bryan seconded by Pyles moved that the report be accepted and the M^yor take VP the
propositon of continuing matron.
Carried.
G. A. Hsvenappointed garbage collector.
Nelson s conded by Pyles moved that the appointment of Haven as garbrige collector be
confirmed and that the city clerk be instructed to publish fact that Mr. H ven was appointed
and advise his phone number so patrons xmxxgrM2= phone him.
Carried.
Pyles seconded by Noodell moved that we adjourn.
Carried.

The Council met in special session to -dopt the budget for 1924.
The fineeting was called to ord,r by Mayor G.nnon and the following answered roll_ call:
Bry+Lm, Goodell, Jewell end Pyles.
Mr. Lillie spoke in regard to the budget for the library.
Pyles seconded by Bryan moved thvt the request of the Library Board for $2915.00 for th,ir
budget be adopted.
Carried.
AB ORDINANCE ADOPTING BUDGET FOR YEAR 1924 was read•is follows:
The City Council of the City of Pasco do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Pasco has fixed and determined the
amount of money neces:-ary to be raised by taxation for the City of Pasco for the year 1924,
and direct that taxes be levied on the property of the said city of P^sco for the
following -purposes, to -wit:

Section 2. It is further directed that taxes be levied on the assessed property of
the City of Pasco 9s provided by law fbr all purposes in the sum of 031,805.00 and that a
copy of this Ordinance -for said purposes be transmitted to the County Auditor in and for
Franklin County, and that a copy be transmitted to the Division of Municipal Corporations,
at Olympia, Washington.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication as required
by law.
