The following answered roll call: Bryan, Gooddll, Nelson, O'Herin, Pyles, and Robbins. The minutes of August 7th were read and there being no objections the Mayor declared them approved a:-, read. Nominations were in order for councilman to succedd G. L. March resigned. Robbins nominated R. B. McFarland. Pyles " C. W. Jewell. Nelson " Harry Custer. Pyles seconded by Nelson moved that the nominations be closed. Carrie d. Upon ballot cast Jewell received 3, McFarland 2, Custer 1. Upon second ballot Jewell received 4 and McFarland 2. Jewell took oath as new councilman. The following bills approved by the claims committee were read: Voucher number Claimant Distribution Amount. 3468C. E. Ord ne L. I. Bragg spoke in regard to the franchise that the Pacific Power and Light Cc wants. Franchise read.as embodied in ordinance.t �•,._ Robbins seconddd by Pyles moved that the propes/fd had been given its first reading. Carried. Robbins seconded by Nelson moved that the city attorney prepare ordinance confirming election for water system bonds and form of bond. Carried. Robbins seconded by O'Herin moved that we proceed with the regular order of business. Carried. I Petition in regard to cindering the streets in Owen's :'.ddition was read. O'Herin seconded by Nelson moved that the petition be referred to the Street abd alley committee. Carried. . Swanner made the report for Mr. Johnson in regard to Sweeney claim and he recommends /,ttor not allow the claim. Herin seconded by Pyles moired that the report be accepted and claim disallowed. Carried. Mr. R. 1,1. Murray rerort advises city should pay $4828.41 for irrigation water was read, Goodellseconded b;; Pyles moved that we -accept the report of Mr. Murray as final. Car rie d. Pyles seconded by Nelson moved that we continue proposed ordinance No. 342 until the next meeting. Carried. O'Herin seconded by Nelson moved that the City Attorney drawn uny ordinance to conform ei with the state law in regard to dogs. Carried.all voting yes except Pyles who voted NO. Report of Engineer Ketner a- to estimates of cost of sidewalk for Owen's and Steffin's Amended Additions was read. Robbins seconded by Nelson moved that we accept report of Engineer Ketner and City attorney drawid up an ordinance creating an improvement district for sidewalk in Owen' and Steffin's Amended addition. Carried. F. C. Scott said it would cost about $150.00 to fix heating plaht at city hall. Nelson seconded by Robbins moved that we authorize Mr. Scott to go ahead and fix up the heating plant in the city hall as outlined by him at a cost of approximately $150.00 Carried all voting YES. jO'Herin seconded by Rohbi moved that we adjourn to meet Thursday august 23rd.
