Pyles seeondedby O'Herin moved that the matter of ordinance 342 covering sidewalk be continued until July 17th, 1923. Carried. Pyles seconded by O'Herin moved that the City Clerk draw warrnt for freight bill on paint fa streets. Ben rant drawn and given number 3311 see bills. Upon roll call all councilmen voted YES. The returns of the election held Rune 2nd were nanvassed and results found as follows. For proposition Against Proposition. Precinct #1 43 18 " 2 56 22 " 3 39 29 48A 51 42 " 24 Total 237 135 Nelton seconded by Pyles moved that appears from returns of special election held June:2 , on ratification or rejection of proposition outlined in Ordinance 341 resulted in a vote of237 in favor nd 135 against and by vote on propositmon the same wr s duly ratified by qualified electors voting at said election. Carried. Nelson seconded by O'Herin moved that City Clerk be instructed to write the Pacific Power' and Light Company advising result of election and ask quot`?tion on their system as out- lined in ordinance 341 and also advising that if a reasonable price can not be obtained then condemnation proceedilge shall be commenced as outlined in said ordinance 341. Carried. Nelson seconded by Goodell moved that the City attorney write to engineers and get the matter in regard to cost of engineering water works before the cotmeil at the next regualr meeting. ✓ Carried. Nelson seconded by O'Herin moved thatthe City refund Mr. E. Jumer $73.35 in payment of pipe line across canatar y upon execytion og quit claim deed. Warrant drawn and paid under number 3350 shown in bills allowed above. Upon roll c»11 all councilmen voted YES. March seconded by O'Hdrin movo that the meeting ,adjourn. Carried. The Cluneil met in reg Special session to oonfer with engineers in regard to water system for City of Peace and get their contracts as to charges. Meeting called to order by Mayor Gannon. The following answered Boll call: Bryan, Goodell, Nelson, Pyles, and Robbins. Mr. R. FBrown presented contract of Burns McDonnell Company of Kansas City and same was a price of $50.00 and expenses per day and a maximum price of $600.00 to appraise old system and 50 on actual construction vQ cost and $300.00 per month for an engineer. Councilman O'Herin enters councilroom. Mr. R. M. Murray of Spokane outlines his plate which is 3% on appraisal value if taken to court and 2f if settled out of court and 50 on actual construction cost. M. Murray's contrscct for engineering for proposed water system and that the Mayor and City Clerk be instructed to execute same. Uphm roll call all councilmen voted YES.
