HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-17-1923 Minutes622 April 17, 1923. The Council met in regular session with Mayor Gannon presiding. The following answered roll call: Bryan, Goodell, Nelson, O'Herin, Pyles, and Rob'eins. The minuted of April 9th were read and there being no objections the mayor declared them approved as read. Pyles seconded by Nelson moved that the bill of McFarland for -73.65 be laid over until further investigation. Motion withdrawn. Communication of Mrs. Id. K. Gray Johnson in regard to an ease;Ient given the City of some property at the intersec tion of East Lewis and Franklin Street was read. It was suggested that matter be referred to the Street and Alley dommittee. Robbins seconded by Goodell moved that the matter in regard to the water tank of Mr. w. W. Service on D Street be laid on the table. Carried. Estimate of Engineer Ketner in regard to sewer for Gantenbeins Addition was read. Nelson seconded by Goodell moved that the estimate be turned over to the street and alley committee and they to they make a report at the next meeting. Carried. The bills were read. Pyles seconded by Nelson moved that the council purchase a de�:k for the mayor. Upon roll call Bryan, Goodell, Nelson, and Pyles boted Yeas and O'Herin and Robbins No. C rried. Letter in regard to irrigation water between Lewis and Columbia Street West of the Business district wa read. Pyles seconded by Bryan moved the let'er be referred to the Light and wfter committee, Carried. Nelson seconded by Robbins moved that the water superintendent confer with the purchasing agent in regard to water pipe. Carried. Appliaction of Edgar Patrick to operate a pool hall, card room and s:ft drink establishment at Pasco Club read. Robbins seconded by Goodell moved that a license ge granted. Carried. Nelson seconded by Robbins moved that the matter of insurance for the fire truck be laid on the tableoca Carried. Nelson seconded by Goodell moved that the purchasing agent purchase a spot light and siren for the fire truck. Upon roll call all councilmen voted YES. six inch Nelson seconded by Pyles moved that the City furnish/pipe to lay lateral up alley between Walnut and Chestnut Streets from end of pipe to B Street and water superintendent notify treasurer and she spread against adjacent property, work and labor to be performed by property owners. Nelson seconded by Pyles moved that a license be granted. Car ied. Application of T. Doi for ppol hall and soft drink license was read. Nelson seconded by March moved the application be handed to the license committee to in- vestigate. Curried. Petition signed by several ladies of Pasco in regard to City paying half od the expense of having a matron at the depot was read. Bryan entered councilroom. O'Herin secondid by Robbins moved that a special committee of three be appointed to confer with Superintendent and try and have the Northern Pacific cooperate and see what arrange- ments can be made. Carried. The Mayor appotnted Pyles, Bryan and O'Herin. Application of Mrs. A. 1.4. Kriser for hotel was read. O'Herin seconded by Nelson moved that a license be granted. Carried. Police Judge Report wa read. O'Herin seconded by March moved that the report be accepted. Carried. Goodell seconded by Pyles moved that the matter of sewer for Gantenbein's Addition be placed on the table until next meeting and be referred back to Air. Rodkey. Carried. Goodell seconded by Bryan moved that the City Attorney draw up an ordinance creating a n improvement district covering property to be improved by sidewalks in blocks 4 and 5 Sylvester Park additions with curbs on 4th street only. Crried. O'Herinseconded by Gdodell moved that street commissioner proceed to have sidewalk for Mrs M. K. Gray Johnson put in if deed is digned. Carried. Robbins secondel by Goodell moved that the Pacific Power and Light Cc be instructed to set poles on Elm Street for a 5 foot sidewalk. Carried. Robbins seconds by Goodell moved that the matter of sidewalk on Elm Street be referred to the Street and Alley Committee. Ca ried. Nelson sevonded by Pyles moved that the Clerk be instructed to instruct Pacific Power and Light Co to place a 75 watt lamp at the Corner of 11th and A sts on the Korth side. Carried. Nelson seconded by March moved that the Pacific Power and Light Co be instructed to place a 75 watt street light at the corner of 7th and 8olumbia Streets , BE corner. Carried. Nelson seconded by O'Herin moved that the meter that is stopping water supply for city be removed and if .flny other meters are doing so to remove same. Carried. May 1st, 1923.
