Mayor garden appointed Haylett to act on the finance committee. The minutes of July 18th were read and there being no objections the Mayor declared them approved as read. Upon roll call all councilmen present voted YES. Resignati)n of E. J. Reynolds read. Nelson s conddd by Robbins moved the resignation be accepted. Carried. Application of W. P. Godfrey tp operate a soft drink establishment at Olympia Club read Nelson seconded by Sargent moved the application be placed on the file perman*ntly. Upon roll call Nelson and Sargent voted YES and Haylett and Robbins voted NO. Captain Gray made an application to the city to have the Paeidlio Power and Light Co place a main down to Grays East Riverside Addition for domestic water as his plait is worn out. Sargent seconddd by Haylett moved that the Pacific Power and Light Co. be instructed to lay a regulation main to serve Grays East Riverside addition with water for domestic purposes. Carried. Nelson seconded by Sargent moved that the servieed of H. B. Voshell as water services notewanted after this date. Carried. Dr. Robbins appointed on the Street and Alley committee by the mayor. Haylett seconded by Sargent moved the meeting adjourn. Carried. Passed ford approval /5-- day of August 1922. _ /mayor. day of August 1922. August 15, 1922. The council met in regular session with Mayor Warden presiding. The following answered roll call: Goodell, Haylett, Robbins and Sargent. Goodell appointed to serve on finance committee. The minutes of August lst and 8th were read and there being no objections the mayor declared them approved as regd. Haylett appeared. Upon roll call all councilmen present voted YES. Goodell excused. Robbins seconded by Nelson moved that Mr. Sargent be appointed as acommittee of one to make an investigation and report at the next meeting in regard tD the elimination of a fire hydrant at the intersection of Acre Park and Kurtzman's additions. Carried. Mr. Lillie made a request that Third street be graded in front of the new high school building as they wish to fix theparking and lawn. Nelson seconded by Sargent moved thatthe propsmtion of Mr. Lillie be referred to the street and alley committee and they to have work done providing the cost is not to exceed $50 and providing the dchobl district will pay half. Carried. Robbins seconded by Haylett moved that the application of Godfrey for a soft drink license bw recondidered. Carried. Nelson seconded by Sargent moved that the application of Godfrey be rejected and no license be granted. Carried WK upon a-1 councilmen voting yes. Coal bids were read from White River Lumber Co. Tum a Lum Lumber Co, Sleeb Lumber Co, and John Geisbush. Placed on file. Nelson seconded by Robbins moved that the bids for coal be laid over until the next meeting. Carried.
