The minutes of May 3 were read and there being no objections the Iriayor declared them approved as read. Petitdbmsigned by property owners and residents residing on East A Street between South Gray and Soyth Llyrtle Streets and on Vyrtle Street between A and B Streets for a fire hydrant coonection tapped into the main irrigation pipe at the point of the gate -valve between S Ielyrtle and S Gray Streets in the all-ey South of A Street was reader,,r;:w° Nelson seconddd by Johnson moved thatpetition be granted and that a temporary,placed to serve purpose during irrigation season when most needed and that connection to be used as emergency in case of a fire and that same sho?uld be placed under supervision of the ::-ter Superintendent. Carried. Newman seconded by liaison moved that the report of thecommittee bn redistricting be accepted and that the City Attorney draw up the pro.cer papers. Carried Newman seconded by March moved that the Street Commissioner o' far his assistance to The Si Sisters of St. Joseph to replace fence in its proper location in as much the first fence was placed where'it is at the fault of the city.,,- Carried. Nelson seconded by Newman moved that the -Clerk notify the Pacific Power and Light Co. to live up to Ordinance IIo. 268.,a copy of which should be sent them; and to get a permit to dig in the streets and to place same in first class shape after work is completed and to refrain form placing meter boxes in parking strips or Streets. Carried. Nelson seconded by I;7arch moved that Chief of Police is to see that all streets are kept clear of obstructions at all times. Carried. Newman seconded by Nelson moved that Purchasing Agent purchase signs to conform with the State law and smae to b8 placed by the Street Commissioner in the proper places on roads leading into the City. Carried. City Attorney Johnson asked for the permission to use the Mayor and Police Jud--e`o office' in the City Hall in case he can not find suitable office roor ^7sewhere. Nelson seconded by Newman moved th-t the request of Attorney Tohnsan be granted as s4id room to be used by him as City Attorney. Carried. Johnson seconddd by !larch moved that the meeting Adjourn. Carried. The Clerk read an Or.d.ina.nceconfirming asesment rolls for local improvement districts numbered 25, 43 and 44, as provided for by Ordinances numberdd 126, 172 and 17a, for maintenance, operation and repair of the wcter system in said districts for the year 1921. Newman seconded by Johnosn moved that the ordinance be decalred to have had its first react. Carried. Newman seconded by Jotnson moved that the ordinance be given its second reading by title only. On roll call alll councilman voted Yes. Johnson seconded by Haylett moved that ordinance be given its third reading. Johnosn seconded by I.Iarch moved that the City Engineer establish grades for sidewalks on E*st Side on Lewis Street for property owners signifying thaeir intention to build own vih.Carried Johnosn seconded by March moved that the meeting adjourn.
