Council met in regular session with Mayor ',Varden presiding.
The following answered roll call: Cady, Haylett, Johnson, March, Ilelson, and Newman,
,The Clerk read the following bills allowed by the Claims Co=ittee:

Newman seconded by Nelson moved that the bills as read by the Clerk be allowed.
(Roll Call: Cady, Haylett, Johnesn, March, Nelson, and Newman voting yes.
jCady seconded by Newman moved that the contract for the removal of garbage be awarded
Dave Hastings at prposition number two, at so much per family per month, and that contract
be drawn up by City Attorley. Carried.
Nelson seconded by Haylett moved that the removing of the tree in the alley on A street
between sixth and seventh street:: be turned over to the street commissioner and that the
cipning be placed in the proper place. Carried.
Application from Rosencrance and Vessey to operate a ferry on the Coltmbia River between
(Pasco and Kennewick read.
Johnson seconded by Haylett moved that the license be granted. Roll Call: Cady, Haylett,
Johnson, March, NBdeon, Newman all voting yes.
Cady seconded by Nelson moved that Rosencrnace and Vessey file a schedule of coupon rates
at the next meeting. Car_--ied.
Mayor Garden appointed Mrs T. J. Cooper to fill the vacancy caused by his own term exptting.
Cady seconded by Johnson moved that the appointment be confirmed. Carried.,
�Rohnson seconded by Newman moved that the City pay fifty cents per holo' for com:on labor
and ."5.00 per day for skilled labor until further action is taken and that eight hours shall
!constitute a working day. Carded.
'An ordinance fixing the salary of The Chief of Police was read.
(Newman seconded by Johnson moved that the ordina ee be declared to have had its first readiLg.
Carried.
(Haylett seconded by Johnson moved that ordinance be gi-en second reading by title only.

Committee. Carried.
Haylett seconder by Cady moved that the grievance of Mr. Campbell in reference to irrigation
water b4 turned over to ilr. Aubin. Carried.
Haylett seconded by Goodell moved that City `_ttorney draw up an amendment to ferry ordinm,ce
making the time limit 24 ho-,rs instead of 48 hours. Carried.
Newman seconded by Iisylett moved matter be referred to Police and License committee.
Cady seconded by Goodell moved that the meeting adjourn. Carried
