Newman seconder by Johnson movedbthat City Attorne y draw up an ordinance repealingold ordinance in reference to the Chief of Police Salary. Carried Cady seconded by Goodell moved that the request of Idrs Fallon in reference to ten feet of So,ith Street be referred to The Street and Alley Cormlittee, Carried. Newman seconded by lYohnson moved that the proposed ordinances bre read by paragrapg and comments and amendments be made at that time. Carried. The Clerk read "AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO II]TOXICATING LIQUORS,PROHINITIINGTHE MANUFACTURE,,, SALE OR DISPOSITION THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR SEARCH AND SEIZURE AND DESTRUCTION, AND THE FOR1LS OF PROCEDURE AND RULES OF EVIDENCE, AND FIXING PENALTIES FOR VIDLATION HEREOF." Haylett seconded by Newman moved that said ordinance be declared to have had its third reading and passed. Aye, Cady, Goodell, Johnson, Haylett, Nelson, Newman. Ordinane: give number 30cl. The Clerk read "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF RAILROADS l7ITHIN THE CITY OF PASCO :'STD PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID O?.DIHANCE." Newman seconded by Hohnson moved that section one be amended to read "over street Crossings" instedd of"within tl-limits of the City of Pasco" Roll call: Cady NO, Goodell YES, Haylett NO, Johnson YES, Nelson NO, Newman Y'3S. There being a tie vote cast the Ma - cast his vote as YES. - Cady seconded by Nelson moved that section be amenTed to read" fifteen miles per hoar over Ainsworth and "A" Street crossings and ten miles per hour over Lewis Street Crmssing". Cady, Goodell, Johnson, Nelson, and Newman Voting Yes. Haylett voting No. Cady seconded by Haylett moved that the proposed ordinance be tabled indefinitely. C2d*T, .7arlett, Johnson, and Nelson voting YES, Goodell and Newman voting NO. the Clerk read" AN ORDINANCE RELITING TO LICENSING ANDREGULATIIiG POOL AND BILI,LARD HALLS AND SOFT DRINK PARLORS AND PROHIBIMING PUNCH BOARDS." Newman seconded by Johnson moved that applications for licenses to operate pool halls should be approved by City Council and therdor section three was so amended and voted up' -i• Carried. Johnson seconded by Haylett moved that section nine be amended so as to read" Any proprietor, agent or employee of such pool hall or soft drink parlor shall be liable and may ire pro- secuted for the violation of any part of this ordina ee and the pssession of any liquors of a greater alcoholic content than 1/2 of 1% in any pool or soft drink parlor shall be prima facie evidanoe against the proprietor, agent of employee of such place that he has violated this ordina nee. Carried. Newman seconded by Goodell moved that said ordinance be declared to have had its thir reading and passed. C �' V Cady, Goodell, Johnson, Nelson and Newman voting YES. Haylett not voting. Carried. Snid ordinance was given number -310. The Clerk read " All ORDINANCE REGULATING DANCING AND PROVIDING LIC3NSE FOR DANCE HALLS IN THE CITY OF PASCO, RE_UIRING A PER,iIT FOR CONDUCTING DANCES 10 PROVIDING . FENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE." Newman seconded by Cady moved that police matron be appointed by Mayor and approved by the City Council instead of by the Chief of Police and Mayor and approved by the Council. Roll Call: Cady,Goodell, Haylett, Nelson and Newman voting YES. Johnson, NOV, Cady soqq reed by Johnson moved that section two of said ordinance be amended to read as motionx e and passed. Car-^ied. Newman seconded by Goodell moved that said ordinance be declared to have had its third reading and passed. Roll Call: Cady, Goodell, Haylett, Johnson, Nelson, Newman, YES. Ordinance given number 311. The Clerk read " AN ORDINANC.; RELATI:is TO SND REGULATING BOATS, VESSELS, FE_iRIES AND OTHER PLATER CRAFT USED OR OPERATED IN THE COLU11BIA RIVER AND WITHIN THE CITY OF PASCO AND PROVIDIIIG FOR ISSUANCE AND REVOCATION OF LICENSE THEREFOR, AND FIXING PEIJALTY FOR VIOLATION TIEREOF.'" Nelson seconded by Cady moved that section eight be amended to read"The City Clerk shall issue sucD license upon approval of the City 9ouncil and provided further, that the City Council may in their discretion refuse or revoke such linense when public interest wor.l.d be subserved thereby.2 Carried. Newman seconded by Johnson moved that ordinance be declared to have had its third reading and pawed . Roll Call: Cady, Goodell, Haylett, Johnson, Illeson, and Ilewman, voting YES. Brdinance given number 312. Newman seconded by Nelson moved that Chief of Police be anthotized to keep on two extra men the balance of this month retaing the married men. Carried.
