Council met in regular session with Mayor Hendersonrpresiding.
The following Councilmen answered roll call: Aldrich, Cady, Davis,Haylett
Nelson, Stinson.
The Clerk read the minutes of December 21st.
There being no objections the Mayor ordered the minutes approved as read.
The Clerk read the minutes of December 31,
There being no okjectio_.s heard the Mayor ordered the minutes approved as
read.
Davis second:d by Aldrich moved that the old council adjourn. Carried.
Retiring Clerk read oath of Offices of the following: Mayor Warden,
City Attorney, Johnson: Treasurer McFarland, Clerk Puchner: Councilmen
Goodell, Haylett, March, Johnson, Nelson.
Before retiring Ex -Mayor Henderson made a short talk after which 4iayor
',garden took the chair.

Cady seconded by Nelson moved that the bills approved by the Claims Committee
and read by the Clerk be allowed and warrants drama for same.

Haylett seconded by Cady moved that appointments as made by Mayor be confirmed.
All councilman voting aye appoi.ntmants declared confirmed.
Nelson sec6nded by Haylett moved that Mayor appoint a Building Inspector. Carried.
AA Mayor Darden appointed A. R. Puclzner Building Inspector.
IT C0 :retmication from FII Cl. Johnston asking to pay dta.ying license in installments
read by Clerk
Cady secondede by March moved Clerk inform Mr. Jol.nston that request can not be
granted. Carried.
Cady seconded by Nelson -oved that Clerk notify Pasco Herald to place notice in the
paper and prepare hand billy notifying all residents to place cans and rubbish in
sacks or boxes and place in alley so that while the clean up is under way it will
facilitate matters for the one that has the clean-up contract, Carried.
Nelson seconded by Haylett moved that Mayor and Chief od Police appoint extra
Patrolman besides the one extra al ready appointed for at least sixty dajm. Carried.
Cady seconded by Goodell I.Toved that a committee with McFarland as chairman be
appointed by the Mayor to prpare a blue print for the council relative to elim-
inating a part or the prsent City of Pasco as there is to much land not bringing
any revenue to the City. Carried.
The Idayor appointed the following as the committee relative to the redistricting
of Pasco: Newman, Johnson and Cady.*ftt,,`.#
Nelson seconded by Johnson moved that Street and Alley Co-mittee meet with Sewer
Inspector I.icFarland relative to the destroying of trees t1a t are stopping the
sewers. Carried.
American Legion offered services to the City COunci.l to help suppress the crime
wave that has hit Pasco.
Ev lett seconded by Nelson moved that the proposition of the American Legion be
accepted and that they confer with Chief of Police,Also vote of Thanks to the
American Legion for the interest they have taken in the mat er, Carried.
Nelson seconded by Haylett moved that City bgy grader su gge*ted by P,1cfarland at
an approximate cost of ;.275.00 F. 0. B. Spokane.

voting >ye mayor declared motion carried.
Johnson seconded by Goodell moved that Mayor appoint R. B. McFarland to act as
purchasing agent for the year. Carried. Mc Farland appointed by Mayor harden.
Haylett seconded by Nelson moved that City Attorney draw up an ordinance
creating office of purchasing agent with such,an ordinance not now
in force. Carried.
Cady seconded by Nelson moved that the matter relative to more fire pro-
tection apparatus be referred to ti -.e #4t# -j Fire, Dater and Sight
Committee.
Carried.
Cady secmnded by Nelson moved that council adjourn to Jan. 18. Carried. .
