Remonstrance against the vacation of Nixon Street between the East Line of Fifth Street and Priest Line of Fourth Street, read by Clerk,:ge:tgt!Xgxk remonstrance being signed by 25 property owners. Councilman Davis entered Council Chamber. Haylett,Ch.of Committer_,m;:de report on -Welcome sign at N.P.Depot,not able to decide who was responsible for expense of same. Councilm.n Cady entered Council Chamber. Newman,seconded by Davis,Moved that the Clerk be instructed to take matter up with Supt.Slo6n of the N.P.Railway,c:sking him to have light globes put in the -Welcome sign. carried by acclamation. Clerk read affidavit of Posting Notices for the vacation of Nixon Street from Arthur to Fourth Street. Clerk read proposed ordinance,an ordinance vacating a portion of Nixon Street. Cady seconded by dldrich,moved that the proposed ordinance be declared to have had First reading, carried by acclamation. Notion by .Ildrich,seconded by Sa.nderson,That proposed ordinance be read by title only for second reading. carried by acclamation. Clerk read, An ordinance vacating a port>l of Rixon Street. Haylet,Seconded by Cady, moved that proposed ordinance be declared to have had second reading. Carried by acclimation. Moved by Cady,seconded by Aldrich, that CotLncil go on record _c• favoring passing ordinance,vacating Nixon Street,providing the Sisters agree to vacate such portion of bloek,for the extension of Fifth Street,�as asked for in protest prezented,and giving satisfactory evidence Hospital is to be bnilt,and continuing hearing untill the second day of Lurch. Roll Call--Aldrich,Cady,Haylett,lieivman and Sanderson,all voteing Aye,Ha.yor declared motion carried and so ordered. Sanderson moved seconded by Haylett,that the City attorney be instructed to obtain easment as asked for, from the Sisters. carried by acclamation.
