August 29, 1918 Pursuant to notice issued to councilmen as follows: "Notice is hereby given that there will be a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Pasco at the Council Chambers at 7:30 o'clock August 29th, 1918, for the purrose of electing councilmen to fill existin- vacancies on the Council, to adopt or consider the adoption of a budget for 1919 and to tranr.act any other business that may properly come before the coiuicil", council met in Extra session, the following named councilmn answering roll call, viz: Haylett, Chute, Cady and Gil.bs. Mayor iVillison presiding. Moved by Gibbs, seconded by Chute that the clerk dispense with reading of minutes of previous meeting. Motion carried, all councilmen concurring. Clerk read r �signation of Chas. Allard. Lloved y Cady, seconded by Gib os that the resignation of Chas. :ilLard as councilmen be accepted. Liotion carried by acclamation. Councilman Cady nominated Lir. L. 11. 'oodell as councilman to fill vacancy,I created by resignation of Coiuzcilman Allard. Goodell as councilman to fill vacancy in cor!ncil. Motion carried, all councilmen concurring. Mr. L. i,!. Goodell being present at council meeting, stated he did not wish to qualify. Councilman Gibbs nominated ]x_r. F. I.1. Cole as co,-ncilman to fill vacancy on coruci1. Moved by Cady, seconded by Chute that nominations be closed and the Clerk instructed to cast aunanimous vote in favor of LIr. Cole for cotmcilman to fill existing vacancy on council. Motion carried, all councilmen concurring. Moved by Uad;,-, seconded by Chute that the Clerk be authorized to order necessary transmission and gears for Stoddard Dayton car from Seattle. Motion carried by acclamation. Moved by Gibbs, seconded by Chute, that the services of the water foreman be dispensed with on September 1st. ISotion carried by acclamation. Moved by Cady, seconded by Chute that the cc ncil agree on estimate of expenses for 1919 as follows: That each item covered by the budget for 1918 be increased by 33-113 percent e::cepting Police and Treasurer's departments, which shall be increased 100 percent in the Police department and 50 percent in the Treasurer's departments. Motion carried, all councilmen concurring. Moved by Chute, seconded by Cady that the clerk have proper publication of budget a,,, adopted by council, for the year 1919. Motion to adj Drum carried.
