Co'nzcil met in regular session, the following naimd councilmen answering roll call, viz: Allard, Anderson, Lolt, Harrison, Chute, Bannerman, mayor 'r7illison pre sidi g. Clerk being absent, mayor appointed councilman Anderson to act as Clerk pro tem. Clerk pro tem read minutes of nLetings of March 6th and March 15th. No objections being raised, mayor ordered minutes to stand approved as read. Clerk read communications from the Recdiver of the Pasco Recl oration Co, as follows: Spokane, Was March 17th, 1917. Mr. C. A. Dolan, City Clerk, Pasco, Dear Sir: Washing to n. The Corot has authorized Pasco Waterusers Corporation to furnish water to all o:�ners of water rights under the Pasco Reclamation Company irrigation _ystem for the season of 1917, and to collect all -..ater maintenance charges for that period. The Pasco '17aterusers corporation hUs taken possession of the plant, and will furnish water to you for the season of 1917. Your -.rater maintenance charges of $43.50 for the season are now due. The Court has authorized Pasco Waterusers corporation to furnish water to all owners of wator rights under the Pasco Reclamation Company i,rigation system or the season of 1917, and to collect a1.1 water rnintenance charges for that period. The Pasco Waterusers car - poration bas tarn possession of the plant, and will furnish water to you for the season of 1917. Your water maintenance charges of ti�3150.00 for the season are now due. Smith, Receiver, be placed on file. Clerk read letter from Secretary of Pasco City B-nd, requesting permission of the council to use council chambers for b, -.rd practice. Motion moved and seconded to grant permission to City Band to use concil chambers for band practice, carried by acclamation, and Clerk instructed to notify 11r. L, H. Wehe, Secretary of Pasco City Band of the action of the con.neil. Clerk read ordinance untitled "An Ordinance providing for the cntting of weeds and the clearinf away of rubbish on the streets, alleys and lots of the City of Pasco, and the collecting and taxing of the costs thereof". Moved by Allard, seconded by Chute that ordinance as read be declared to have had its first readinb. Passed by accic.mation. Moved by Harrison, secorAed by Bannerman, that the mayor be authorized to sell an old water tank and wagon belonging to the City for the sum of •;'30.00. Motion carried by acclamation. hIayor instructed the Committee on Public Property to look into the matter of the Co�u7ty using �--- water wagon ✓,hich belongs to the City, end see that has been done with said wagon. Clark read Ordin nce entitled "An Ordinance granting to Pacific Power & Light Comp ny, s corporation, its succe -ors and assigns, for a, period of 37� 25 years from the date of the passage of this ordinance, the right, privilege and .franchise to lay, place, own, maintain, �.nd operate all neen'jces in desirable water mains, pipes, connectins, fittings and p the streets, avonues, ^lleys, lanes and thoroughfares of the City of Pasco for the purpose of supplying and furnishing; the s,id City of Pasco and its inhabitants .ith water, and to charge -anal collect rates therefor; providing for fire protection to the said City of Pasco nd its inhabitants and fixing Of - charges to be paid for such service by the City of Pasco; that the City of Pasco shall have the right and oprion to purchase said system of ter ::orks and that the said City shall not erect, acquire, maintain, oiler-te or become interested in any water works or eater syutem of the GranteehereinTerein;and 11 -repealing Ordinance No. 52 of the Town (now City) of Pasco approved y 1906, and superseding aryl annulling contract and agreement between the Town (now City) of Pasco and P. E. Elmemdor£ dated ',jay 19th, 1906."
