Moved by Chute, seconded by Bannerman that Harry Dent be appointed Fire 1 Chief tntil next regular meeting. I:dotion carried, all councilmen concurring. Mayor anno l-noed that he had not signed warrants for claims allowed by the Council a� follows: One in favor of C. AT. O'Brien in the sum of �.?21.50, and I the other in favor of R. B. McFarland in the sum of ?12.20, covering expenses of trips to Tacoma and Spokane, respectively, in connection -ith the water situation. Moved by Chute, seconded by Allard that the unsi;-nod warrants be tabled until neat regular meeting. Motion carried, al.l councilmen concurring. Collicil then discussed the siturjtidn existing on account of notification by the Receiver of the Pasco Rech mation that that company would not beable to furnish water for 1917. Moved by Anderson, seconded by Bannerman, that the matter of the Reclamation Nater for 1917 be -.17_t off until the neat regul.r meeting. Notion carried, all councilmen concurring. Clerk read claim of Will Davis work -Bork in the street department _end it fire department, amonmtinv to $38.50. Moved by Chute, seconded by Anderson that the bill of 17ill Davi_ be allo..ed concurring. 373 and clerk in tructei to issue wgr-rant to cover. Motion carried, all councilmen Council adjourned. I,are February 20, 1917 Council met in regular session, the follo•rring named councilmen answering roll call, viz: Allard, Anderson, Bannerman and Holt, Ivll yor Uillison pre- si si rig . Clerk read minutes of meetings of February 6th and 14th. No objections being raised, mayor ordered minutes to stand approved as read. Moved by Bannerman, seconded by Allard, that the city agree to rent the bity Barn to Mr. Hastings at the monthly rental of '310.00, which mount shall be worked out by Mr. Hastings by team hire, at rates not to exceed day ?2.50 per tumm for team and -:agon, and •;?5.00 per day for team and driver. P.Iotion ca -cried by ac-lcrration. Moved by Bannerman, seconded by holt that the matter of compensation for Police Oustice be tables indefinitely. Idoti-•n carried by acclamation. Mayor appointed Otto Gurske to act as fire chief under ordinance 1Io. 177. Moved by Bannerman, seconded by Anderson, that the appointment of Otto Gurshe be confirmed. Motion carried by acclamation. Committee of citizens apreared before the council and advised th>.t a water users' aoc:ociation had been formed with the idea of leasing the pumping plant and system from the Pasco Reclamnition Co., and asked the cooperation of the council in their efforts to furnish .rater for the city and other users for the season of 1917. Moved by -Holt, seconded by Allard that the council get behind the citiz.-= ' committee and Water Users' Co por^tion and book them up in the e forts. Motion carried by acclamation. Moved by Allard, seconded by Holt, that the city attorney employ such counsel as is necessary to ascertain what legal sights the city has under and by virtue of its contract wife the Pasco Recl,rr=tion Co.
