Motion carried, all councilmen roll call, viz: Chute, Holt, Reardon, Steckel and Steffins. Mayor Davis being absent, councilman Reardon was elected to act as voting in favor of same. mayor Licence Committee submitted a written report as follows: pro tem. Pasco, Wash., July 28, 1916. Clerk read minutes of meetings of July 18tH, July 20th and July 21st. Honorable Mayor and City Council, No objections being raised, Mayor Pro tem ordered minutes to stand approved Gentlemen: as read. City Clerk Dol,,n reported that it was necessary for him to be absent from the city for about ten days and requested council to authorize expense of a substitute during his absence. Irloved by Holt, seconded by Chute, that City Clerk Dolan employe a deputy at the rate of •,3.00 per day for the time he is absent from the city during the month of August. Motion carried, all councilmen voting in favor of same. Motion to adjourn carried. Note by Clerk. Moved by Holt, seconded by Steffins that total anpropri tion for the Legal Deprrtment be fixed at X570.00, to be segregated as follows: Salary $420.00. Court costs, expenses and gquipment $150.00.
