Falk, Holt, Reardon, Steckel, And Steffins. i.ioved by Steffins, seconded by Holt, that Steckel act as mayor pro tem in absence of Iayor Davis. Lotion carried unanimously. Clerk read minutes of meeting of April 4, 1916. No objections being offered to minutes, I:Iayor pro tem ordered same to stand approved as read. Moved by Reardon, seconded by Steffins that Pacific Power & Light Compliny's bills for I-.rch be allowed as per schedule, including item for merchandise. Motion carried. Clerk issued warrants as follows: #124 $18.70; #125,`..?195.00, #126, 5143.50, 7x127, j16.50; #128, X42.67; #129, $.70. Clerk read communication from Pasco reclamation Co. in words and figures follo:rs, to -wit: " Pasco, Wash., April 12, 1916. "Mr. C. A. Dolan, City Clerk, Pasco, Washington. Dear Sir: Referring to warrants on Local Improvement Districts received from You the 5th inst., and which are returned herewith as follows: District No.25, Warrants 16, 17 and 18, District 43, Warrants 89 t 109, inclusive, District 44, Warrants 44 to 53 inclusive. Inq•_uiry at the Treasurer's office .2iscloses the fact that funds are not available to pay these warrants and since tluis office has no authority to accept anything other than cash or its equivalent in payment of maintenance charges we ---are re- ferring the matter to Mr. A. G. Smith, Receiver for the Pasco Reclamation Co. for such action in '.he premises as he may Dish to take. Very truly, P. A. Devers, a/c to Mr. A. G. Smith, Receiver." Manager. Moved by Reardon, seconded by Steffins that oommunic-tion from Pasco Reclamation Co. be accepted and placed on file. 1:Iotion carried, all members concurring. Light & Water Committee reported that committee had submitted a proposition to the Pacific Power & Light Co. and were waiting upon the company. Street & Alley committee reported that county has about 0400.00 to spend repairing ro-d to Ainsworth within the city limits. Licence committee reported nothing done. Moved by Reardon, sec,nded by Steffins that licence committee be granted further time. Motion carried, all members voting in favor of same. Clerk read ordinance as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 270. An Ordinance confirming the Assessment Roll for Local Improvement District No. 25 under Ordinance iio.125 for maintenance, operation and repair of water - system of said District during the year 1916. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the ASsessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 25 under ordinance i4o. 125 for maintaining, operating and repairing the water system of said Local Improvement District for the year 1916 as provided for under said ordinance No. 125 which provides for the improvement of certain portions of the city of Pasco described in said ordinance by purchase of a water right for irrigation and domestic purposes and the constructing of a piping system for the iistribution of the water has been duly made up and filed and due notice thereof given by the City Clerk :-s provided by Law. 2. That it is therefore ordered that the maintenance, operation and repair charges appearing on said assessment roll as equalized against each respective lot, tract or parcel of land, or other property is hereby approved and held to be -t least the amount such lot, tract or parcel of land is ben- efited, specially by the use of such water and the maintaining, operating and repairing rand up -keeping said irrigati,!n and water system, and after due consideration said assessre nt roll be and the same is hereby confirmed as the same now stands. Motion carried, all members concurring. Mayor pro tem Steckel =1so voted. Mived by Steffins, seconded by Reardon, that bill of J. N. Durham for digging up city Sewer be allowed and warrant drawn to cover same. Motion carried, all members voting in favor of same. Clerk i sued warrant No. 130 in the sum of ti�6.50 to cover. Moved by Reardon, seconded by -olt that the matter of sewer inspection be referred to the Superintendent of Streets and the Street & Alley Committee. Motion carried, all members concurring. Moved by Steffins, seconded by H,lt, that the Street & Alley committee be granted further time on the matter of bill of Barr against the city. Motion carried, by acclamation. Moved by Steffins, seconded by holt, that the Captain Brown bill be left over till next regular meeting. Motion carried by acclamation. A. 2. iVehe appeared before the council and requested that council allow school children to place stands on the streets of the city in order that they might m rla t their produce. !;loved by Steffins, seconded by holt, that request of 1r. A. F. Wehe that school children be allowed to place stands in the streets of Pasco in order that they might market their produce, be granted. Motion carried, all members voting in favor of same. Moved by Steffins seconded by Reardon, that Mr. 'Walters of the Hotel Pasco be paid $2.00 for taking care of the grass slat at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Lewis Street during the year 1916.
