1st. I am of the opinion it will be impossible to obtain a comnAtent man
for 625.00 per month, unless the office of Police Judge is combined with
some other office, the'raQ insuring the holder thereof a 'reasonable
compensation for his services.
2nd. The State law provides that you carrot increase or decrease the salar--
of an elective official during the term of office.
While this in no way interferes with an appointive officer such as Polies
Judge, I am of the opinion the same spirit of the law should apply in such
cases, was iand.
