A Commnnication of the _:ayor vetoing Ordinance 10. 215 for the
following roasone.UD '040
1st. I am of the opinion it will be impossible to obtain a comnAtent man
for 625.00 per month, unless the office of Police Judge is combined with
some other office, the'raQ insuring the holder thereof a 'reasonable
compensation for his services.
2nd. The State law provides that you carrot increase or decrease the salar--
of an elective official during the term of office.
While this in no way interferes with an appointive officer such as Polies
Judge, I am of the opinion the same spirit of the law should apply in such
cases, was iand.
Moved and seconded that. the Communication be accepted and placed on file
and that paragraph noxi and 2 be spread on the minutes.
