Communication of Chas. 17. Johnson asking for an investigation of his motives in Johnson. questionin,,- the integrity of some of the !:rembers of the city couuzcil was read, and upon motion duly made and seconded was ordered placed on file. The following resolution was presented as read: RESOLUTION i'1HEREAS, Statements question the integrity of some of the members of the city government have been and are being circulated, and 17=,REAS, Charles W. Johnson, under date of February 26th,in a letter addressed to this council, complains of the action of the City Attorney in questioning the sincerity of the writer in circulating statements derogatory to some of the officials of the city, and asks for an investigation, T==FOP.E, BE IT RESOLVED, That it is the sense of this council that it is not a proper procedure for this council to investigate the actions of its own members, and the said Charles 17. Johnson be and he is hereby requested and challenged to file such information as he may have with the proper author- ities, or failing to do so that he publicly withdraw such statements as he may have made. BE IT FURTLR RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the council and a copy of same fu"1•nished to each of the local papers.
