Change Order No. 1 — HMA Patching
Description of Change:
This change order adds work to the Contract to sawcut, remove and dispose of one foot of existing
asphalt overlay (approximately two inches in depth), and replace with new hot mix asphalt on each
end of the pedestrian bridge. The transverse edges at end of the new concrete approach slabs (tie -
in point with the existing pedestrian overpass bridge) were uneven with gaps which were too big for
joint sealant. After conversations with the Contractor and City's Construction Manager, it was
agreed that the best fix for the situation would be to remove and replace asphalt overlay as
mentioned to get right up against the concrete. Tack coat and compaction for asphalt are also
included with this added work. The joint sealant would still be applied at expansion joints as per
Contract plans and would not be part of this change order.
Entitlement:
This work is not included in the original Contract. The Contractor is entitled to added compensation
for added work performed in accordance with Section 1 -04.4.
No entitlement is found for a revision to the number of working days. Adding this work will not
increase the time to complete all critical items of work. In accordance with Section 1 -08.8, no
revision to the number of working days will be made by this change order.
Price:
A lump sum invoice was received from the Contractor detailing their as -built cost. The City of Pasco
Construction Manager reviewed and accepted the proposed cost, which includes all labor,
equipment, time and material.
The total cost for this change order work is $957.31.
