I. PURPOSE: To set forth in administrative orders the requirement and responsibilities of employees regarding outside employment. II. DEPARTMENTS AFFECTED: All III. ATTACHMENTS: A. Request to Accept Outside Employment IV. REFERENCES: Pasco Municipal Code, Section 2.42.500 "Outside Employment" V. POLICY: A. A full -time employee's primary responsibility is to the City of Pasco and outside employment is not to interfere or conflict with his/her position with the City. Outside employment for full -time employees is restricted to a maximum of 24 hours in any one week, except during vacation. B. All full -time and part-time employees are to inform their department directors if they have a conflict of interest due to another occupation or employment relationship. C. Employees, full -time and part-time should not work at outside employment during the eight -hour period immediately preceding their scheduled reporting time for City employment. D. All full -time and part-time employees must complete and submit the Request to Accept Outside Employment form prior to accepting or establishing outside employment. The form is to be submitted to the employee's supervisor for signature. It is then routed to the department director for approval, to Human Resources for processing, and to the City Manager for final approval. 1. Any changes in outside employment must go through the same request and routing process as the previous form. 2. This form will be kept in the employee's personnel file. 3. Human Resources will provide a copy of the executed form to employee. ( -Z�7-1 Date Administrative Order No. 270 — Outside Employment Page 2 Attachment A REQUEST TO ACCEPT OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT In accord with PMC 2.42.500 (established by Ordinance 1306, Section 64, 1968), I request permission to accept employment in a part-time capacity during my "off duty" hours as indicated below. By accepting this employment, I fully realize that my primary responsibility is to the City of Pasco and that my outside employment will not interfere or conflict with my position with the City. I also understand my outside employment is restricted to a maximum of 24 hours in any one week, except during my vacation. I further understand that I shall not work at outside employment during the eight -hour period immediately preceding my scheduled reporting time for City employment.
