I. PURPOSE:
This Administrative Order is issued to establish and communicate general employment
standards which assure that individuals will be treated based on merit, that decisions
relating to any employment relationship are based on work - related needs, and that equal
employment opportunity is provided.

IV. POLICY:
The City of Pasco will recruit and select candidates for employment, and apply all
employment practices, based on individual skills, merit and work needs. An individual's
age, sex, race, religion, color, national origin, disability, marital or family status, sexual
orientation, or use of a trained dog guide or service animal shall not be unlawfully
considered in making employment decisions unless based on a bona fide occupational
requirement. The City of Pasco will not condone discrimination against individuals or
groups for non -work related reasons and is committed to providing a discrimination -free
and harassment -free work environment.
