REGULAR MEETING 5:15 P.M. December 11, 2013

VI. WORKSHOP:
A. Staff reported on accomplished tasks since last meeting, including sharing of
the Historic Preservation Plan with the DPDA; requests for CLG Training
schedule (DAHP and Teresa Brum); update of CLG requirements and
dissemination of same to HPC.
B. Commissioners discussed the Historic Preservation Action Plan, focusing on
items to be scheduled for year 2014. Items were prioritized 1-8, recognizing
that an historic survey (part of item 1.A.2) will depend on receipt of a CLG
grant, which in turn would depend on CLG status approval (item 1.A.3); CLG
Training (Item 1.A.4) is contingent upon availability; Railroad Museum Land
acquisition (Item 1.C.1) requires input and leadership from the WSRHS; and
the Main Street Program (Item 2.A.1) is a DPDA-responsibility.
C. Action items were broken down into steps, including
a) Item 1.A.1
(1) Examine model historic register ordinances, particularly Spokane's
(2) Hold a workshop for proposed Pasco Historic Register Ordinance
(3) Hold a Public Hearing for proposed Pasco Historic Register Ordinance
(4) Present recommendation to City Council.
b) Item 1.A.2
(1) Establish database based on the National Register model
(2) Use CLG grant to sponsor an historic resources survey
c) Sponsor a public outreach effort to promote the Pasco Historic Register
