September 11, 2013 I. 5:15—CALL TO ORDER: II. 5:15—ROLL CALL: All members present (Dan Stafford late) III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approved August 14, 2013 IV. 5:20—OLD BUSINESS: A. None V. PUBLIC HEARINGS: A. None VI. WORKSHOP: A. The Commission discussed the draft Historic Preservation Plan. One of the big ticket items to emerge from the discussion is the need for a summary table of action items by due date; this would allow the Commission and staff to see how many items will be addressed for each year, plan activities for the year, and if needed, to move some items forward or backward in time in order to balance the load. B. Commissioner Stafford requested that a bibliography of sources for historic info be added, as well as photo credits, where necessary (he would e-mail a list of historic information sources). C. The commission was charged with the tasks of"fact checking," sending or bringing in photos, and otherwise fine-tooth-combing the final draft within the next week; additions, changes, corrections, and photos to be turned in by September 18, 2013. VII. 6:25—OTHER BUSINESS: A. Commissioners discussed several activities to be held in conjunction with the Plan presentation to City Council at its workshop meeting, as follows: a) A walking tour (no) b) A manned display at the rear of Council Chambers for the workshop presentation of the Plan (OK) and c) A Consortium kickoff (too complex—not prepared).
